    BUYERS BEWARE- I will start by saying the the sales staff was great to work with but beyond that we have had quite a disheartening and frustrating experience with Richmond. Where to start?? We started building last Jan and went without hiccups until the house was being close to being done. They finished the house a month earlier than we were told it originally would be done and we communicated with them for months we would not be able to move until Sept. they did not move the close date and proceeded to charge us $400+ A DAY even on a weekend when banks are close because we could not close until a week after they told us we needed to. The super Jeremy is nice but will tell you every excuse of why things are done the right way even when they are not. Our finish work in our home is TRASH. Baseboards do not go to the floor, didn’t fix nearly any of our blue tape marks for paint, our island supports fell off within two days of moving in, cabinets came in scratched multiple places, our grout is uneven and falling out, carpet bubbling and way more. A few days before walkthrough there was a leak and they had to replace some ceiling and drywall. We pulled the carpet back this month to find mold where the leak was. We walked in for our final walkthrough on closing day to BLOOD all over our basement carpet and he “couldn’t see it”. I had to walk him through and blue tape it and fight tooth and nail to just get the carpet shampooed. Our yard started sinking only a couple weeks after moving in. They have a warranty department but don’t count on it because it takes months for them to tend to your needs. Ana’s now that we have been here for 5 months we are dealing with them being snakes and not putting in a retaining wall. We were told at the beginning they were putting one in, and have now been told for months that we don’t “need one”. We are the only house on our street moved in and they put one in behind EVERY HOUSE EXCEPT OURS. When we clearly need one. Moral is DO NOT BUY here unless you want to fight tooth and nail for everyone that should be a basic requirement, get everything in writing if they make promises, and expect a half ass job for an expensive home.
