- DDDavidMay 19, 20251.0We reserved/prepaid for a warehouse-type forklift on a Friday, for a big event over the weekend. We had five semi trucks to unload and the forklift was CRUCIAL to help make this happen. About an hour before they closed, the driver showed up with wrong lift(brought a huge telehandler) and we sent him back, informing him that it was the wrong piece of equipment for moving pallets. I called the store and the lady said they would get the right one out to us. We totally got hung out to dry. No one showed up with the lift, no one called, shop was closed and just went to voicemail. No after hours number in case of emergency. This is how to take care of customers?? As a business owner, I would spent the rest of my night fixing this before I even thought about locking the doors and heading home.

- EMElizabeth McKinnonSep 7, 20215.0We reserved a carpet cleaner from Sunbelt. It was the only profesional one we could find in Ogden, though I might have missed one somewhere. We were able to reserve it online even though it was a holiday,. Their website is very easy to navigate and it was simple find what we needed and place a hold on it. You have to register with Sunbelt first, but that is also a snap and they didn't ask you to enter credit card information on the website. Tuesday after Labor Day, my husband was able to pick it up. Well not literally. It is a very rugged, heavy machine so Mike kindly helped him load it into our car. We had a little trouble operating it. Dave, one of the dials was hard to turn and we didn't want to break it. Dave, the service technicians, was gracious enough to come out to our house and show us how the dial and the machine works. Even though we got a little bit of a late start because of the learning curve, we got all our carpets clean and the machine back to the shop by 5. Even though they had offered to let us keep it overnight. We will definitely be back to Sunbelt for our rental needs.

What do I need to rent a tool?
All you need is your driver’s license or a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card to pay for the rental upfront. No extra deposit is required.

Is a deposit required for a reservation?
For customers without a line of credit, Sunbelt Rentals does not require a deposit to rent tools and equipment. However, you will be asked for payment information when you make your reservation. Your credit or debit card will not be charged for the rental period (one ((1)) day minimum) until you pick up the equipment.
For Credit Customers, we will secure a deposit for your reservation. This deposit will be held within your account until the rental equipment is returned and the contract closed. Apply for a credit account here.
If your project is quick and you only need the equipment for a few hours, Sunbelt Rentals does offer a Rapid Return rate. Return the equipment within four (4) hours of the pickup time and we will refund the difference of the Rapid Return rate. Rates will vary based on product. Call 800-667-9328 if you have any questions.
What if I need to keep my equipment longer?
If you need assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can extend the rental for you. When you keep the equipment longer, we will add the additional time and charges to your contract and credit card. Please refer to the rental contract, where the day, week and 4-week rates are shown for each piece of tool and equipment.
Can I return rented equipment at any location?
Typically, equipment should be returned to the same location where you initially rented it. If you need to return it to a different location, please contact the store where you rented the equipment for guidance. It’s advisable to call ahead so we can assist you in finding a convenient alternative location for your return. Your convenience is our priority.
What is the cost for the delivery of equipment to my location?
The delivery charge is calculated based on the category and class of equipment, the location of the rental location, the distance of the project site from the rental location.
Can I get tools and equipment delivered to me?
Yes, Sunbelt Rentals offers convenient delivery options from our extensive network of locations for a reasonable fee. When making a reservation, simply select the delivery option. During the reservation process, you can specify the delivery drop-off date and time, as well as your estimated equipment pickup date. The estimate is for our planning purposes and not a final date.
To initiate our equipment pickup service, you must confirm the end of your rental via the app or by phone. Additionally, if you have specific delivery instructions or prefer a designated contact person for coordination, please include those details when submitting your reservation.
For businesses utilizing a commercial credit account, associated delivery and pickup fees will be reflected in your invoice.
To receive notifications about your delivery, adjust your settings in your account to receive reminders and updates related to your delivery and pickup.
What happens if a tool breaks or quits working while I am renting it?
Sunbelt Rentals inspects and services each piece of equipment prior to each rental and should be in good working order. If you experience problems with the tool while renting it, please go to the specific Equipment Detail page within the reservation to request service. If you need additional assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can arrange for next steps or a replacement. If you want to have protection in the event of damage, Sunbelt Rentals offers a Rental Protection Plan (RPP), which can be purchased at the start of your rental.
