Thank you to Andrew Rodgers and Joe Smith for the mini split install. These guys are professional and knowledgeable and the install was seamless. I also want to thank your salesperson Tina who answered my numerous questions. Shenandoah AC, you should be very proud of your employees. They represent your company well!!
Justin and Craig were outstanding! They took the time to thoroughly diagnose an intermittent AC issue that had been difficult to track down and quickly identified the problem as a damaged thermostat wire from the original installation. They clearly explained everything, answered my questions, and made the necessary repair to get our system cooling reliably again.
Both technicians were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous throughout the entire visit. I truly appreciate their expertise and excellent customer service. I highly recommend Justin, Craig, and Shenandoah Heating & Air!
As we were getting prepared for the up and coming heat dome- we noticed that our AC was not quite keeping up with the cooling. Typically our thermostat is set at 73 and we don't have any issues (on a 22 year old Goodman unit!)
This morning the temp inside was at 80 degrees and I had a lurking suspicion that it was going to be replacement time. I got in touch with Jennifer Hardy at Shenandoah AC and heating and explained what was going on and without pause she asked if I wanted to get on the books for a service call. She took in my information and within an hour I got an email that my tech (Greg Thomas) would be on site that afternoon. By noon my house was 85 degrees and all I had was a single window unit to help mitigate the rising temp. I got a call from Greg at 12:45 and he let me know he was 5 minutes away. He arrived on site, went right to work and immediately identified the issue as a severely blown capacitor. He showed me exactly what had happened and also explained how much worse it could have gone- Lesson learned here is don't use the wrong parts and hire a professional every time. The repair was done in about 20 minutes, then we did a full inside check of the work and he was on his way to the next repair.
Shenandoah AC and their team saved my life today- I am not sure how well I would have done with the 100 degree+ weather that is on the way.

We first contacted this company on 6/11 when our A/C stopped cooling properly and struggled to maintain temperature. An after-hours diagnostic visit was completed at a cost of about $200.
We were initially told the issue was faulty sensors. A technician returned on 6/17 and replaced them (about $500 in labor), but the issue was not resolved. I had to call the office and request a same-day follow-up because the system was still not working correctly.
During that follow-up, a refrigerant leak was identified and we were informed the evaporator coil needed to be replaced. Two technicians returned on 6/22 to complete the repair, which cost approximately $1,500.
In total, the system was without proper cooling for nearly two weeks, and the final cost was about $2,200. After review, the company did credit approximately $230 for the initial misdiagnosis.
The system itself is only about 3 years old, and this company was also the original installer when we purchased the home, which is why we called them for service.
Since the coil replacement, the system has been functioning properly.
While I appreciate that the issue was ultimately resolved and the technicians were professional, the initial misdiagnosis and resulting delay led to additional cost, time, and inconvenience. For a relatively new system, I expected a more accurate initial diagnosis and a smoother service experience.
We noticed our thermostat screen upstairs was turning itself off and on and that the temperature was rising. We couldn’t take our time so we started looking for nearby businesses with good ratings which led us here. There’s a fee for them to come out but that seems to be the norm now. The first repairman arrived on time, did a couple of things, and said we had a broken wire, needed a leak test, but got the fan running in the system to circulate air in the meantime. Paid for that visit. Two minutes after he left, panel was black again and fan shut off. I called to ask if he could come back but he was on to his next appointment so we were dispatched a second repairman. He arrived in time, explained a bit more, no charge, but didn’t have time to do the leak test so that would be scheduled. That was done in a day and we were told it was the coil and we would get an estimate shortly. We sure did…over $1600! This unit was just replaced just shy of a year ago so we wanted another opinion. I’m so glad we did! The leak test was done again…bad valve, and no coil issue. The repair has been done and we have a/c again, but paid less than $1000. I’m guessing that when the coil replacement didn’t fix the problem, we would have been given another estimate. So glad we looked elsewhere.
