  We were very excited to begin this project. We had recently purchased a 1936 home, removed all of the carpeting, and hired Flawless Flooring to refinish approximately 950 square feet of original hardwood floors, feather in new flooring where a previous addition had been built, and rebuild four stairs that had been replaced with plywood when the carpet was installed. We were not living in the home during the project, and Flawless Flooring was the only company working there. What was originally estimated as a two-week project ultimately took six weeks. During the project, a wall with original 1936 paneling was damaged. When we brought it to their attention, we were told, “It wasn’t us. None of the guys are owning up to it.” Since no one else had access to or was working in the home, we found that response difficult to accept. After the floors were stained, someone walked across the fresh finish, leaving multiple clear boot prints. We were told that they had checked everyone’s shoes and that none matched the prints, denying responsibility. As before, no one else was working in the house, making that response implausible. They did refinish the footprints after we pointed them out, but continue to deny that they caused them. The rebuilt stairs also presented a serious safety concern. The riser heights vary by as much as one inch from step to step, which creates a tripping hazard. It became apparent that they were aware there were problems during construction, but these issues were never communicated to us. We understand that mistakes can happen. What was most disappointing was not that problems occurred, but the repeated refusal to acknowledge responsibility when there was no reasonable alternative explanation. Open communication and accountability would have gone a long way. There were also several smaller issues, including unfinished transitions, replacement boards that were not cut cleanly, and repeated messages about incorrect charges on the final invoice that went unanswered. The finished floors themselves look good, but the overall experience was frustrating. Between the extended timeline, lack of communication, unresolved workmanship issues, and unwillingness to take responsibility for damage, we cannot recommend Flawless Flooring.

  I have been using Flawless Flooring for several years at the apartment building I manage. Not once have I been disappointed with the outcome. The floors always turn out beautiful! They have a great team of people, but more importantly, the guys who actually come and do the hard work on the floors are truly artists! Highly recommend you use them for your next project.
