  We wanted to build a smaller, functional home that didn't break the bank. Most of the builders we talked with weren't interested in working with us and said they couldn't build us a 3,000 sq ft house for less than $600K. We met Brad from Urso Brothers at their 2019 parade home and he was very open to whatever we wanted to do, regardless of the price. We started the process by having a sit down with Brad and a 3rd party designer (Tom from American Design Concepts - who was great). Together we designed our home and then Brad sent it out for bids. It was nice that we didn't have to sign any paperwork or really pay any money to get to this point (outside of the designer fee which was a nominal ~$300-$400). After Brad got the quotes from his suppliers/subs back, the price was really, really high. Much more than we were expecting. I remember on the car ride home thinking that we'll never want to build this home with Urso, it's just too expensive. However, I worked with Brad over about 1.5 months to reduce the scope (no finished basement, no custom shower, etc) and refine our bids and we ended up knocking about $100K off the price of the home. Up to this point, we still hadn't signed a contract so we felt like we were getting a fair number and didn't feel pressured. We decided to move forward with Urso to build the house that we had designed. Our house wasn't in their McFarland subdivision, but rather a pretty heavily wooded lot. We had some unique challenges with our build, but Brad was always willing to talk through the options with me, even when the discussions were difficult ones. It was clear that they had a pretty good rotation of sub contractors (which can really make or break a build). I'm also a pretty hands on person and Urso didn't have any issue with me owning a few pieces of the build myself (installing and running all the CAT5 cables, building some shelves, etc), assuming I wasn't stepping on the toes of any of their sub contractors (we owned the lot - might not have been possible w/o owing the lot). I really appreciated their flexibility with this aspect. We mainly worked with Brad, but had the pleasure of meeting Kevin and Cain towards the end of the build. I only spoke on the phone with Eileen, but she was very gracious with her time and answering all of the numerous financial questions that a first time home builder has. We are very happy with our build. The home turned out pretty much exactly as we hoped. The thing I appreciated most about Urso Brothers is that everyone we talked with was extremely down to earth and understanding. I know there were times when Brad's phone was lighting up from other builds that were happening in parallel, but he never really let us "feel" that. They gave us the attention that we were paying for and built us a great quality home. I would not hesitate to recommend them to build your next home.

  We built with Urso Bros in the Summer/Fall of 2016, and had nothing but a great experience throughout the entire process. We were drawn to Urso as we loved how every build we toured was customizable and unique to the builders needs and wants. The level of detail, customization and personalization that we received from Brad made it a positive experience. We are still in our home today, and love it just as much as the day we moved in.

  I called them within a couple of months of the project being "finished" and that is what is it for them. "FINISHED". They believe they finished the project and do not stand behind their work. Be careful. My kitchen plumbing was fixed by a different plumber I had to hire and the transition between my bedroom and the porch had to be rebuilt after I fell and twisted my ankle. It cost me $600 just between the plumbing and the transitions. I have a leaky roll-in shower that was done with Urso Brothers two years ago and they are not returning calls. They are NOT taking responsibility to fix it. I have had to call a different plumber to come and tell me what the problem may be. Another $143 out the window and the problem needs to be fixed by the contractor and subcontractor ShowerMasters, llc. Neither want to stand behind their work.
