  I am going to leave a 5 star review because the tech who came out was very respectful and worked diligently and I don’t think reviews should ever impact the tech unless they were being disrespectful. Pricing and labor cost review: My biggest concern was the on the prices. Based on what my family members told me from when they got their garage doors done for and prices online it seemed higher than normal for the basic low end springs and garage door opener. Prices online for the parts alone starting with the 2 new basic springs were around $300-$400. Additionally the top of the line garage door opener from Home Depot was $250-$300. I was quoted $900 for 2 of the lowest end springs and labor. The garage door opener and install(labor) quote was $1,300. Total price being $2,200 dollars all together. This was where something did not sit right. If I had bought the low end springs myself at $150 each or $300 dollars total and the new top of the line garage door opener for $300 dollars it would have been $600 for the parts. On the higher end I would have paid $300-$400 for labor which took about an hour. total cost in my mind should have been at most $1,100. when I was first quoted it was $2,200. I did have to negotiate my quote to get down to a reasonable price. I don’t know where the justification for double the price including labor comes in. Do your own research online, I feel like I am being fair and accurate with the parts pricing and generous with labor costs getting to the $1,100.

  Damon was outstanding. He was very thorough; communicated well, explained the problems and fixed them! HE was extremely courteous and represented his company and their product. Would definitely recommend A1 and will call again with any issues that might arise.

  I had such a great experience using A1 Garage doors for my repair and Damen and Jaren were awesome to work with. They thoroughly explained everything to me and gave me multiple options for my repair with zero pressure to choose the most expensive option. They were communicative and prompt with their arrival. I would highly recommend A1 Garage doors and bonus if you can get Damen and Jaren!

  Damen came out this morning for a garage door tune-up and WOW - what an absolute breath of fresh air. Honestly, A1 is incredibly lucky to have him on their team. From the moment he arrived, he was kind, calm, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. You can instantly tell he genuinely cares about both people and the work he does. He took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand without ever making me feel pressured or “sold to.” Instead, he walked through different options, explained the reasoning behind them, and helped me understand what made the most sense both now and potentially down the road. That kind of honesty and transparency is so rare these days. Beyond that, Damen just has one of those personalities that immediately puts you at ease. It genuinely felt like talking with someone I’d known forever. Customer service like this is becoming harder and harder to find, and he absolutely has it naturally overflowing out of him. It was truly such a pleasure meeting him today. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone without hesitation. Honestly, he has the kind of leadership qualities that stand out immediately - I could easily see him leading a team or stepping into management someday. He has incredibly strong people skills that are absolutely top-tier and honestly feel untapped. A1 should be very proud to have someone like Damen representing their company. I have no doubt he’s going to do big things in his future, and I truly hope the people around him recognize that and continue empowering him along the way.

  Nic Campbell performed our garage door installation and was extremely professional throughout the process. He communicated very well and was timely…actually more than timely as he was able to begin the installation well ahead of schedule. He ensured I was comfortable with all aspects of the installation before beginning and then walked me through all the components of the installation at the end prior to leaving. He obliged all my requests. The entire experience was excellent with our installation and I thank Nic and the A1 garage team for all their help throughout this process. I would recommend anyone in need of a new garage to give A1 Garage here in Madison a call.
