Just talked to Steve at wasco windows. Service manager for 38 years I believe he said. I have 3 casement windows that the seals are not sealing anymore. I talked to Frank the first time I called and he explained to me that this is a known problem with their windows. Obviously it’s a manufacturing defect known to the company. When I purchased the windows I was told there was a lifetime warranty on them even after I sold my property. Well as usual I was lied to because Steve just told me there is a 130.00 charge to drive out to my house. I told him I had the glass break on a window many years ago and they didn’t charge me to come out and fix it. He claims someone made a mistake and FORGOT to charge me. Steve told me that if I remove the windows and bring them to “THE SHOP” he will fix them free. I neither install nor replace windows. The warranty at wasco windows is worthless. Do yourself a favor and purchase windows from a reputable manufacturer, which Wasco isn’t. Any company that takes advantage of old retired people should be ashamed of themselves. Especially when this started with a known manufacturing defect! I’ve included a copy of their “limited lifetime warranty” which isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Number 3 states, “insulated glass is warranted against failure of the duel perimeter seals, leakage, cracking or breaking.” If you want quality windows from a reputable company contact J and B windows. My sister had her whole house windows replaced by them and she had 4 issues over the years and they came right out and either fixed the problem or replaced the windows at absolutely no charge. I’m thinking of taking these wasco windows out and throwing them in the garbage because that’s where they belong. I purchased these windows because they were made in Wisconsin and I’m all for the hard working American workers. Unfortunately management has decided that company greed comes before the workers and the customers who patronize them. If any customer compares our warranty to any of our competitors, they will clearly see that ours is far better than everyone else. The above sentence is from Wasco windows. I suggest you carefully read what I wrote regarding J&B windows. Their customers don’t have to dismantle their windows and sashes and bring them to be repaired. How is your warranty “far better”? I’m curious. I’m also curious about the arbitrary 25 year timeframe to start charging for the extremely long truck trip. Please explain. I’ve looked over your paperwork and I don’t see anything regarding the 25 year timeframe nor do I see anything regarding the 130.00 fee. Thank you for enlightening me. I’m so naive sometimes, I actually believed what your salesman Dennis told me.
