We woke up to a burning electrical smell this morning. Even though Harts was booked up for the day they made sure to have someone come out to our house anyway. The service guy (Dakota) was great and I highly recommend them for your needs!

Had a downspout blocked into my yards drain field. Booked an appointment online (I wasn't in a rush) and it suggested a $93 drain special and an appointment the next day. Cool Got a phone call a little while later confirming with a time frame from 8am to 4pm, because it was a special. Waited all day and technician finally arrived around 4pm. Jovaughan - seemed like a nice guy. This is where things got interesting. He told me that the special couldn't be applied to an outside drain and he'd figure out how much it would cost to unclog the drain. I asked why as the system had suggested it to me and it was the primary reason I booked with them. He said the new AI system is glitchy. 5 minutes later he came back to me and said he'd recommend having the drain replaced for $4500. Why? he visually looked at the drain - why go with the most expensive option? Next he said he could unblock the drain for $750 which was discounted due to the glitchy system!!! Seriously, that's a weeks salary for a lot of people in WA State. Now this felt like the old bait & switch tactic, so I sent him on his way. Talked to my neighbor who lent me his power washer and sewer jetter ($50 on Amazon BTW) and unclogged it in 2 minutes. I know companies need to stay in business but it seems like companies try to squeeze the absolute max from us for every single service transaction. BTW interesting that their yelp reviews only give them 2.8 stars off 287 reviews, while scoring 4.8 on google!! Is someone paying a company to increase their review scores??

They are more interested in upselling to whatever pays them the most rather than fulfilling the request of the customer and when you dont agree to the option that they provide you will be charged for a trip charge my hose bib needs a rebuild kit installed cost online for part is $30 and take approximately 30-45 min but they technician claims that it isnt something they typically do and complete replacement is the suggestion and that would require cutting my drywall to gain access into my wall

Hart's project manager said we needed our pipes replaced and that it was impossible to clear the bathroom sink drain without risking puncturing a hole and causing water damage. He quoted $5,000 for the work. Then I had an experienced plumber come out who owns his own business. He said our pipes are totally fine and he fixed the drain in 30 minutes. Either Hart's project manager is ignorant about plumbing or he is a liar trying to price-gouge homeowners and make a big commission for himself. Steer clear! In reply to the owner saying the photo shows corrosion, I had two professionals look at the photo and they both said it does NOT show corossion. It shows flux which is normal and not problematic.

When I called Harts I was very clear on my situation. A frost-free hydrant was rusted and had broken off. This hydrant was on the water line coming into my house. So the water to my house had to be turned off. I called and was told someone could come out the next day. Before I got off the phone, I went over again my issue. No water, the hydrant was dug up and exposed, just couldn't unscrew the broken piece of faucet from the water pipe going into the house. I was told no worries, our trucks are completely stocked. Next day, plumber looks at what needs to be done and tells me he needs to call in. Then tells me they can have someone out in a couple of days!! When I repeated I was without water and asked why they would send someone who wasnt going to work on the problem he said he would call in and see what they could do. He came back and said they could have someone out today... for OVER $5200.00!!!!! Completely outrageous. When I told the plumber it was way too much he said it was outside the house. We'll, no shit. That is why I emphasized the issue when I called. On top of that, after looking at the outside repair issue, the plumber wanted to do a whole house inspection. WHY? Instead of sending out an estimator looking to drum up more work with your whole house inspection, send someone to fix the problem that I called for. Parts for my issue are less than $150.00. Emergency service and a few hours work is no where near the price quoted.
