I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing any major work with Mercurio’s.
I called them because my HVAC system was leaking a significant amount of water. Their technician told me it could be a clogged condensate drain, but quickly shifted the conversation toward the age of the system and potentially replacing it entirely.
When I specifically asked whether he had actually cleared the drain line to rule out a clog, I was told he didn’t believe that was the problem because a slight bit of water was still coming out of the drain. I specifically said well maybe it’s just clogged , but not 100% constricted, to which he disagreed and said that I probably have a cracked drain pan
I was then told accessing the drain pan would require significant additional labor just to investigate, that parts might not even be available because of the system’s age, and that I needed to consider whether it made sense to spend thousands repairing an older system versus replacing it.
Their written estimate was $482.83 just for the additional labor/return trip to inspect the drain pan. This was before actually repairing whatever they found.
What really bothered me was that I felt like I was being pushed toward an expensive replacement before the most basic potential cause had been properly ruled out.
So I stopped there and called another HVAC company for a second opinion.
The second technician inspected the system and believed the condensate drain was clogged. He blew the line out for approximately $90, performed a tune-up and tested the system. His assessment was that although the equipment is older, the system itself was operating well and the numbers looked good.
That is an enormous difference from the direction the first conversation was heading.
Mercurio’s also charged me additional money during the original visit to move an HVAC electrical/control box that was getting wet. The solution was essentially to reposition it out of the water’s path using zip ties.
I own businesses myself. I have no problem paying professionals appropriately for their time, expertise, diagnostics, or repairs. My issue is when a customer is presented with an expensive worst-case scenario before inexpensive and obvious possibilities have been properly eliminated.
Had I simply accepted the direction of the first diagnosis, I could have ended up spending thousands—or potentially replacing a functioning HVAC system—when another technician addressed the immediate problem by clearing the drain line.
Based on my experience, I will not use Mercurio’s again. If you’re presented with a major repair or replacement recommendation from them, I strongly suggest paying for an independent second opinion before authorizing the work.
The technician, Jesus N., provided A+ service from start to finish. His expertise reflects that of a highly experienced Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Specialist. He thoroughly cleaned our entire ductwork system, including all 15 registers and three return vents, taking the time beforehand to explain the entire process and what to expect. He was especially considerate of the fact that my wife teleworks, carefully working around her office availability so her day wasn't disrupted.
He never pressured us with unnecessary upsells, but he did take a moment to walk through the advantages of updating our air purifier—which had stopped working due to a dead bulb. We opted for the replacement, and he had the new unit installed, tested, and fully operational before leaving. Outstanding, professional work all around.

Arnold and his crew , Rich, Daniel, and Jordan were very respectful of my wife and I as well as our home. They replaced our furnace and heat pump and placed drop cloths wherever they were going to walk through the house. They removed the old furnace and heat pump and disposed of them. Their work was clean and professional. They cleaned everything up and were finished in one day. I was very happy as they responded to my problem very quickly. I’m very happy with the finished work.
I got a new AC and furnace system installed with Mercurio's today. Tavais G. and his crew did a great job. Great communication, great craftsmanship, great customer service. He was very patient showing me how to use the new thermostat and answering all my questions. Really impressed again with Tavais and all Mercurios staff have been a pleasure to do business with.

After months of HVAC problems and a genuinely awful experience with another company, switching to Mercurio's was the best decision I could have made. I became a priority member and every single person who's come to my house has been fantastic. My original system turned out to have been installed improperly, and the Mercurio's crew just finished putting in my new one — they went above and beyond from start to finish. They even touched up my paint and left my house completely spotless. I'm thrilled with the whole experience and can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Mercurio's!
