  Jafco Plumber Miguel Garcia was wonderful! Not only did he fix our sink drain but he gave me Information on how to likely avoid ever having a plugged sink again. He could have chosen not to share this information with me and thereby had us have a plugged sink every so often and this would have generated more income for Jafco from our repeat business. Instead, he told me that most bathroom sinks where the homeowners use a lot of toothpaste get clogged by that toothpaste because most people don’t run much water down the drain after they’ve finished brushing their teeth. He gave two solutions to this problem. 1. Flush more water down the drain after brushing your teeth. For example, let the sink fill up with water while you’re brushing your teeth and when you’re finished open the drain and let the whole sink full of water drain out. OR. 2. After brushing teeth, take a piece of toilet paper and scoop out the extra toothpaste blob that’s sitting at the bottom of the sink and throw that in the toilet. That will make sure the sink very likely will never clog again, and the blob of toothpaste won’t be any trouble for the toilet since the toilet has much greater water flow. Miguel also told me that the bacteria based drain cleaners which are supposed to eat away at clogs (that another plumbing company was only too happy to sell to us) don’t work on toothpaste. (If the other plumbing company that sold us the bacterial drain cleaner had asked, I could’ve told them that the bulk of the clog was toothpaste, but they never bothered asking). Also, Miguel told me that if I ever did have that sink clog again, that he could install a new kind of drain pop-up it was very inexpensive that would help prevent clogs as well, because it is very easy to clean and you don’t have to take it apart and disassemble the drain to clean it out. Rather than installing it while he was there and making extra money for Jafco, he advised me to wait to see if the sink ever clogged again and then I could have Jafco install it. This way I would get more mileage out of the services that he had already done without having to spend any more money. It was a wonderful feeling to have a plumber come out who was more interested in helping me than in racking up additional charges on an invoice. As an aside, last year, my wife and I had to replace a 70 yard long leaky watermain to the house. I got estimates from five different plumbing companies. Jafco (with Supervisor Dakota Brown) did the job in two and a half days and was $10,000 less than the next best quote from the other plumbing companies. One of the other plumbing companies told me the job would take 7 days, maybe longer! Please do not think that Jafco doing the job in 2 1/2 days and for $10,000 less means that they cut corners or used poor workmanship. They did not. I watched them as they did their work. They did an excellent job; explained every step to me and what my other options were. I would recommend Jafco Plumbing without reservation to anyone who needs a plumber or needs sewer work done. They do fantastic work!

  Garrett and Abe did a phenomenal job diagnosing the issue with our low water pressure. They also designed and installed a system for the booster pump for our 1907 home. Our water pressure is now fantastic! They were great at communicating, timeliness and working within our budget. We look forward to working with them again.

  Horrible bedside manner. Sewer back up. The tenant called this company to have them come snake and said they would pay for it. Jafco came out and turned it into a cluster F. They did not get any signed authorization prior to working on the sewer. They jetted and found that they were root balls. Never verified any cost before they started work. They did it the work and Made their own prices afterwards. The diagnostic fee for initial visit did not go towards the total bill as it does with other companies when they come out and look at it. The jetting fees were more than double what we had another company do two years ago. And on top of that, they added all these ticky-tacky fees to it. Plumbers are known to be some of the shadiest the construction industry. The price swings of what they do vary night and day between companies more than any industry. After they got a blank check from my tenant for any work. They called and harassed me for day about a payment. The initial call started on the Friday of Memorial Day. I told both the people on the phone that I would be going out of town for Memorial Day camping with no reception and I would be back on Monday. They called me every day demanding payment in a very rude way even though I am a customer. Since I’m the property manager, I let them know that the owner is also out of the country and to please be patient. I was bombarded by calls and texts that were very rude and I told them please be patient and the bill will get paid. Their customer service was horrible and the tone that they were using to talk to customers was very rude. It was like the mob or a bill collector, calling me every day to harass me. I told the person on the phone you repeating the same thing over and over again is not helping the situation. I’m having trouble reaching the owner and he will pay it ASAP. So not only where they’re all these extra fees and they’re inflated prices. They were calling and texting of all hours of the day to harass me. The Wednesday after Memorial Day it got paid. I will not hire these guys again. They start doing work without authorization that is signed. Buyer beware, get all pricing before authorizing anything. The customer service and the bedside manner is horrible. Please go somewhere else where they respect you as a customer and treat you with respect. I have many clients and many vendors that I could have sent referrals to them for since I manage many properties. I would stay far far away from this company. Take the time to vett many plumbers as they are pretty scammy in their practices because they know if there’s a water issue it’s probably an emergency and they will overcharge you.
