We hired Shane from Ace Handyman Services North Seattle to build a new balcony for us, and he knocked it out of the park from start to finish. Communication was excellent — he was responsive and clear leading up to the job and checked in the morning of so we knew exactly what to expect. The price came in at roughly half of other bids we received, which was a pleasant surprise without any sacrifice in quality. The craftsmanship on the balcony itself is outstanding. Shane also pitched in on a few other odds and ends around the house while he was here, which we really appreciated. When he left, you wouldn't have known anyone had been there — the cleanup was spotless. Highly recommend Shane and the Ace North Seattle team!

We had Elliot come out to recaulk our shower and were happy with his work. He was professional, communicated clearly, and offered to use the extra time (from the two hr minimum) on additional tasks. We also appreciated the easy scheduling, including getting revised quotes as we changed our plans.

My experience wasn’t all that great. First, there was confusing about my appointment date so I had to reschedule. Next, the tech was an hour late (no text or call to let me know), and then he supposedly spent 5 hours to get paint, touch up some space, and paint 3 small sections of wall. I had multiple things that I needed done and he only got to one for $500 (this is after an hour was deducted because of my complaint).

I am grateful for the excellent work done by Elliot from Ace Handyman Services. We had a problem with a sliding glass door, and he was so thorough in assessing the problem...actually being a detective! He had to take the heavy door totally off to figure out what caused the issue. After fixing the door he addressed every other problem in our condo, from sticking window hinges to drainage in the bathroom sink and more. The two hour package with Ace was a good deal for us, as Elliot has so many handyman skills he solved every home problem. And, he is very friendly and personable!

I hired Ace handyman to address several issues around my home, including a few major repairs and some smaller projects. Before scheduling, I sent photos of all the items that needed attention. Based on those photos, the office estimated that everything could be completed in one day.
The experience started off poorly. The appointment was scheduled for 8:00 AM, but no one arrived or contacted us. At 8:15 AM, we called the office and were told the handyman was finishing a previous job and would text us when he was on the way. We didn’t receive that text until around 8:25 AM, and he ultimately arrived around 9:00–9:15 AM. Delays can happen, but better communication would have been appreciated.
Unfortunately, the service itself did not meet my expectations. When the handyman arrived, he did not have the necessary equipment for one of the larger projects, which required a tall ladder. Another project involved a loose stair. During scheduling, I was told this was something they could handle, but the handyman who arrived did not seem confident about the repair.
My frustration is not with the handyman personally. The issue is that I provided detailed photos in advance and expected the company to send someone who was properly equipped and experienced for the work requested. As a result, much less was accomplished than I had anticipated, and several of the more important items remained unresolved.
I’m giving 2 stars because the planning, communication, and assessment process did not match the actual capabilities and preparation on the day of service.
That said, I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the handyman did complete some of the projects during our 8-hour appointment, and I appreciate the work that was done.
