Had Shocking Difference out to look at the breaker for my septic pump always tripping. Jordan and Zach came out to take a look. Rather than starting with expensive and unnecessary exploratory options, they talked me through the included 12-point inspection as part of the service call. After no immediate solution was discovered, they then suggested the diagnostic service. They quickly found that the breaker was faulty and they replaced it. No additional charge outside of the service and diagnostic fees. I appreciated their professionalism, skill, and most of all communication. The 3 year warranty on the breaker they replaced is great. During their 12 point inspection, they called out a few areas of improvement with my electrical system, the estimated costs for implementing those, and zero, I mean absolutely zero pressure to do them. I for sure will have Shocking Difference, and hopefully Jordan and Zach, back out for any additional electrical needs. Top notch crew and business!
Will not, ever, do business with them!!!
Called Shocking Difference to help a young man, who was following Google Maps, find their business. The woman who answered the phone, most likely the owner or manager, sounded very bothered by my call. She showed no concern that this young man, who is interested in becoming an electrician, was half way to Boston Harbor looking for their "Open House." She gave no apologies over the old location mix-up, became quite defensive, and patronizingly called me "Honey." The young man just wanted career advice from those already working in the field of his choice. He certainly won't be wanting to work for this company someday. Nothing "shocking" there!
Wow! Your reply is condescending, dishonest, and pretentious. It misconstrues our conversations and confirms the reason for my review.
First of all, if this young man is my son, it is not your place to disclose that. Your only purpose in doing so is a derogatory attempt to insinuate I'm a "helicopter parent" and that the young man is incapable of doing things on his own.
As you know, I called 3 times:
1st - On Sept 1st or 2nd, to confirm that your business was the "Open House" ad I heard on the radio. (Brent, didn't bother to make sure I had the new address.)
2nd - On Sept 4th, to assist the young man who was on Lemon Road, and couldn't find your business. Obviously, it was not safe for him to locate your number to call you while he was driving.
3rd - I called back when he was on Libby Rd instead of Lilly Rd. And no, I was not yelling.
I never called "about learning to become an electrician," As I stated in my review, the young man was going to your Open House for career advice from electricians currently working in the field, He had "on the job" type questions to ask, in person, face to face.
Secondly, you didn't post the new address where it mattered the most, on Google Maps. Didn't even bother to include it in the post promoting your Open House. (See pic.)
Thirdly, you were never apologetic or welcoming.
Fourthly, I never said the young man "was too frustrated to come and learn what it took to be an electrician." (Wow!! How utterly insulting and demeaning!) I said, he was frustrated because he couldn't find your location! By the time he got your correct address, it was too late, your Open House would have been over by the time he finally got there. Attempting to attend your event was a complete waste of his time and gas. You've made it very clear, you were too busy to care.
Finally, this young man has a 4.0 GPA in his Electrical Residential Technology Degree Program, and is on the Dean's List, which absolutely proves he is well aware of what it takes to become an electrician!
