  No work yet but I met with the group today in anticipation of building a barndominium. I sense they are highly knowledgeable and competent. If I can afford what I want, they will be the one to do it. Stay tuned....

  I would NOT recommend Kifer Construction for building a pole barn! Chuck Kifer came recommended to us and we wanted to warn people by sharing our experience. We learned we had to be our own quality control inspector as well as the project manager because it doesn’t exist with this company. We signed our contract with him in May 2025 after being told if we put down 25%, it would hold our spot to have our building completed that Fall. The building plans were finalized in June 2025 and we were on track to begin using our new building by the end of the year. Then the problems began….. This would become a pattern of once we made a milestone payment, we would hear nothing from him and work would become stalled. The permit didn’t get submitted until September and was stalled for 6 weeks with no communication or action to resolve the issue. Once the permit was issued, Kifer considered this “start of construction” and another payment was made. By now, he had 60% of the total building cost and had not moved any dirt at all! Extra costs were also added after “start of construction” despite his own contract stating no added costs after this phase. Finally in February 2026, work began (was to be finished by Fall 2025) and wasn’t completed until July 2026. The building was 6” out of square, the door manufacturer wouldn’t order garage doors (he owed them money and we had to order and pay for them directly) and there was a lien notice sent to us as Kifer failed to pay the metal supplier. There was no urgency made by Chuck to pay it and release the lien. What should have taken about 6 weeks to build, turned into 8 months and created a lot of extra cost, effort and stress on the customer. Promises were made but not kept and he was less than truthful with us. After checking with other builders, we believe Kifer Construction used to be a great company but unfortunately, we did not get his best work and experienced great stress with his company. For these reasons, we would not recommend Kifer Construction!
