  Dear JES Team, I would like to thank the JES team for the excellent work you did repairing our kitchen floor and the main beam supporting our second floor. Our 126-year-old house presented some unique challenges. The kitchen floor was sloping and creaking, and the work required installing numerous new joists and beams underneath the house. From start to finish, your team handled the project with great professionalism and expertise. I especially want to thank Mr. Emilio and Mr. Edward. They were extremely knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated to doing quality work. They took the time to make sure everything was done properly, and the results were truly above our expectations. We are very pleased with the work and grateful for all the help and effort your team provided. I would highly recommend JES to anyone in need of structural repairs or foundation-related work.   We started out thinking we only needed concrete/garage floor lifting/repair but a much bigger foundation issue was discovered. A huge thank you to Brian Perrin for getting everything scheduled and the follow up texts/emails with everything. Thank you to Trent and Luis for the wonderful work that was done. Watching the push piers being installed was amazing. Luis made sure I was aware of everything they were doing and why it was being done. I can't say enough good things about this company. I will definitely be referring family/friends to JES!! Once again, thank you!! :)

  I had a nationally well known and previously highly thought of termite company I'm in for a termite inspection centering around my crawlspace . They advised me , after through inspection , done by two of them(one supposedly had the biological bona fides to be an expert on mold), that I had no termites but I had mold and fungus in my crawl space . They told me it was very important that I have a $2800 mold and fungus treatment done by them. I looked up firms that had mold and fungus inspection capabilities and I saw JES listed . I had previous dealings with them and knew them to be of high integrity .JES sent in Nick Alexander from Virginia Beach to inspect my crawl space. After thorough inspection , supported by photos , Nick advised that there was no mold or fungus problem in my crawl space . He reported on other observations that he made based on his inspection , confirming the structural soundness of crawl space construction and current status . He took moisture readings on various beams and found them to be relatively higher than ideal , but no mold or fungus at all. I will continue to monitor the space and consider Nick's recommendations going forward. The point of my review is that I wanted to give recognition to an honest and forthright company and their employee. My experience tells me that these are people who's word you can rely on.

  Chase showed up Monday morning with one helper and they said that they would be finished by Thursday. They actually had a little more to do and changed it to Friday. Friday night at 8 pm they say they are done and want the final payment of 52 thousand dollars. I told him that I would pay after the job passed inspection. Then after I looked a closer at their work, I saw things that were missed. There office sent them back out and they fixed what they missed. The office still asked for a final payment before inspection. I said no and that I would pay when it passed inspection. They assured me that they had requested the final inspection and they have no control over the inspectors schedule. Turns out, I accidentally allowed the final payment and 4 days later they haven't even requested the inspection. I checked with the permit office. So I can't finish the job because JES is dragging their feet. I highly recommend that you don't pay them before the inspection. Now I'm worried it won't even pass. I did the materials take off and labor hours. 2 men under 50 hr each. Less than 4000 in materials and the price was 69000+, yes 69 thousand not 6900. They are a joke.

  I had an excellent experience with Scott Cust, who came out to inspect our foundation. From the moment he arrived, he was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely took the time to make sure we understood everything that was going on. He also explained the soil survey for where we live in Chesapeake, which helped make a lot of sense as to why this was happening. Scott did a fantastic job thoroughly inspecting the foundation and explaining what he found. He didn’t just point out issues and move on—he took the time to walk us through the details, explain what could be causing the problems, what we should be looking out for, and what our options were moving forward. He gave us a tremendous amount of useful information and answered all of our questions without ever making us feel rushed or pressured. What really stood out to me was how knowledgeable and honest he was. You could tell that he actually cared about helping us understand our home and make an informed decision, rather than simply trying to sell us something. His professionalism, communication, and attention to detail were all outstanding. I would absolutely recommend Scott Cust to anyone who needs a foundation inspection or has concerns about their home’s foundation. He went above and beyond, provided us with valuable information, and left us feeling much more confident about what we needed to do. He was also really great with my dog—my dog absolutely loved him, which says a lot! Great job, Scott, and thank you for taking the time to help us!
