  Worst experience we've ever had with any company. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING A HOME RENOVATION, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. We hired J&L to tear down our existing deck and build us a custom deck. We were told the project would take 4-5 days, but it ended up turning into 6+ weeks. Shotty craftsmanship, left a mess in and around the yard, completely killed our grass because the old decking was left in a 9 foot pile for 6 weeks, zero communication, and the cost of the project contined to increase due to hidden fees and extra materials. I found out after the project was completed that the company failed to pull building permits through the city as outlined in the contract. Just an awful and expensive experience all around.

  Horrible experience dealing with this company. They sub contract to just about anybody they can get to work. The craftsmanship is horrendous , the owner thinks the work they complete is acceptable . You can see in the photos the main reason the gate that was installed is failing on the first day it was conlleted is because none of the cuts are square and flush , many not even touching the connection point , cross supports done completely wrong , many nails did not even go where they were meant to. They made a 1 foot gap between the fence line that was supposed to be where they connected too . A gap a person can fit through ( check pictures) . They installed a crooked fence with a gap on my neighbors fence , big enough that her animals can escape through. I could add another 20 mistakes but you get the picture. I understand things happen when you subcontract, but the owner ( Jacob ) refused to fix anything , said i was playing games . I have all communications between me and J and L . Lesson learned , never go with the lowest bid . Avoid this company at all costs .

  Happy as a kid at Christmas. Barrett and Don knocked out a fence with gate and front porch in 3 days. Looking forward to working with J&L again.

  I used J and L to build a small custom shed. They showed up when they said they would and provided quality product. there was an item that I did not like with the roof and they fixed it to my liking without even an argument. I would absolutely use them again.
