Floor Quality and Installation Review Here is an honest review of our experience with this flooring company after living with the product for two years. 💰 Project Cost & Scope We paid approximately $17,000 to install premium luxury vinyl tile (LVT) across a 1,700 square foot area. 👍 The Positives * Aesthetics: I truly like the look and style of the premium vinyl flooring. * Customer Service: The representative we worked with was very polite. * Post-Install Check: The company did a walkthrough check immediately after the installation was completed. * Warranty: The project came with a standard one-year warranty. * Free Service Call: I appreciate that they sent two workers out to address our issues free of charge, even though the floor is out of warranty. 👎 The Issues (Two Years Later) Despite our best efforts to protect the floor, including making everyone take off their shoes since day one, we are facing significant structural issues: * Broken & Buckling Tiles: Several tiles have broken internally, which is causing the floor to buckle upward. * Shifting Gaps: The tiles are continuously shifting apart. I've had to buy specialized flooring tools to manually knock the tiles back into place. * Installation Failures: There are critical areas where the initial installation failed. Because these issues developed slowly, we did not notice them until after the one-year warranty had expired. * Botched Quick Fix: The two workers who came out tried to apply a quick fix, but actually made the situation worse. The repair left visible staples and glue exposed on the floor. * Expensive Replacement: The worker openly admitted that a quick fix won't work and that we will have to pay out of pocket for a full replacement to truly fix the area. 📝 Final Verdict While the customer service was pleasant and I appreciate the free service visit, the long-term installation quality did not hold up. A premium price tag should come with premium durability, not exposed staples, shifting tiles, and a bill for a total replacement after just two years. I am giving them a 3 out of 5-star rating.

Sediq is fabulous! We stopped in the store on Saturday and were pleased to find many options for a stair runner. We selected and ordered the rug on Tuesday. The rug was ready and installed the following Thursday. I would definitely recommend this company and work with them again. Beautiful results!

I hired First American Carpet and Floors to install engineered hardwood flooring at my residence. Sediq was originally good to work with but now, three months later, he has become untrustworthy. I also feel the same with the two installers who install the floors at my residence. The installers arrive at my residence on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, to remove the engineered hardwood and carpet on the main level of my home. They returned on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, to begin to install the new engineered hardwood on the entire main level except for the laundry room. The installers, with guidance from Sediq, never allowed the planks to acclimate, they never check the moisture content of my subfloor and engineered hardwood planks, they never check the levelness of the subfloor, and they nailed the engineered hardwood instead of utilizing the fully glued method or the nailed method with a glue assist. THESE ARE ALL INDUSTRY STANDARS AND FIRST AMERICAN CARPET AND FLOORS DIDN’T FOLLOW ANY OF THEM. They completed the installation on Saturday, Aprill 11, 2026. I completed a quick walk through the installation and at that time everything looked okay. Days later, I noticed a hump and dip in the kitchen which I did not notice with the old floors. I brought it to Sediq’s attention, and he stated the hump and dip was already there. Sediq was right. I later realized the imperfections in my kitchen floor were already there but if the installers had checked the levelness of the floors this issue could have been solved before the installation of the new floors. I also begin to hear a popping sound throughout the kitchen, the hallway leading to the kitchen, and parts of my living room. I advised Sediq of the popping and he agreed to inspect the popping noise himself. Sediq, after inspecting the floors, agreed with my finding of the popping noise. He advised Mohawk of this situation. They sent a flooring inspector from DCFII to my home to determine if the popping noise was caused by defective engineered wood or poor installation. Weeks later, Sediq brought a copy of the inspection report to my residence, and it was determined the popping noise was due to poor installation. The installers did not leave the required expansion gaps. Also, within the report, Mohawk stated, “the subfloor and the hardwood should be of similar moisture content,” which I am a 100 percent positive the installers never verified the moisture content of the subfloor and hardwood. Sediq advised me that his installers would remove all the planks from the kitchen, use a leveling compound to fix the dip, and reinstall the new planks using the fully glued method. Also, they would remove all the quarter round molding on the main level to ensure each plank has the required expansion gap. On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, I met with Sediq at his store to discuss the flooring work scheduled for the next day. I asked about acclimating the engineered hardwood planks before installation, but he said acclimation was not necessary. He also stated that he was not going to remove the planks because gluing the planks was a bad idea and nailing the planks into the leveling compound would damage the compound, which is true, nailing the planks into the leveling compound would damage the compound. At this point, I was confused because Industry standards stated, “wood planks over 5 ½ inches wide should be glued or nailed with a glue assist”. My planks are seven and a half inches wide. Sediq was against this method. He asked what I wanted and I told him the glue method. The gluing of the planks worked and there was no more popping noise in the kitchen. Sediq and the installers took major short cuts with the installation process of my new flooring. They proved to me that they are not knowledgeable with the flooring installation process of engineered hardwood. They only care about putting money in their pockets and not caring about the customer. I will post an update when First American Carpet and Floor fix the remainder of the popping noise and/or expansion gaps.
