- LALIVINGSTONE KUM AwahJul 16, 20261.0Buying a house from Richmond American Homes has been a complete disappointment. The sales guys were great and everything was pretty smooth as far as the purchase was concern. However, once we moved into the house, that was it. Few days in, it started with the door handles all coming apart. Then the dishwasher starts pilling off, then months later the microwaving went off sparking fire, cabinets falling apart, then later there is a water leak at the basement causing electrical issues. We were told the company will perform a home inspection after 10 months of moving in (considering warrantee is one year) but it is almost 2 years now and no one has shown up for the inspection. We have reported all these issues to the warrantee company but keep getting promises of someone calling us that never happens. It is a shame that one will spend more than half a million dollars to buy a property that requires this amount of repairs in its first year of construction and purchase.
