Initiated in 1983, the Greene Plant is located on Route 29 north of Charlottesville. Over the years the plant has won numerous awards, including the Greene County Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Contributor Award, National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association Safety Achievement Award, Virginia Aggregates Community Impact Award. A supporter of the local fire department and rescue squads, the Greene Plant also sponsors programs with local schools. Greene produces specialized recreational and landscaping products that are used statewide.
