  I called to reserve a detacher and asked the person that answered the phone after making the reservation if my wife and I should be able to get it off of the back of a pickup truck. I was told without any hesitation that yes we should be able to. When I picked up the dethatcher on 10/2 I asked the person helping me the same question, should my wife and I be able to get this off of the truck with no issues, to which he replied yes. He loaded it onto my truck with a powered lift. When I got the dethatcher home my wife and I tried to get it off of the truck with me on the side with the engine. She could not help lift it off. A resident in my neighborhood was walking down the street with their dog and offered to help me get it off of the truck. We got it off of the truck, but he struggled as well. It was obvious that we were not going to be able to get it back on the truck ourselves with my wife. There were no neighbors available to help me get it on the truck. I called The branch and advised them of this and requested a pick up as well as asked how much it would be. The person on the phone said they would have to get with their manager, but would likely use a small truck instead of a big truck to minimize the expense. He said to call back when I was done with the unit. I was finished with the unit at least an hour plus in advance of the half-day rental time that I was trying to do. I called the branch and advised them that I was done and Liam answered the phone and advised me that it didn’t matter what kind of vehicle they drove off the lot. It was still $100+ dollars to pick it up. I explained to him what the other gentleman had told me and he dropped it to $50. Liam said that the dethatcher was only 120 pounds and that it would be picked up. I sent an email to the Email address on the website. I had asked in the email that we be charged for the half day that I was trying to rent and $50 for the rental. I suggested that that would be a good outcome for both, but none of this would’ve been necessary if they had clearly explained the weight and just said we really can’t tell you if you and your wife can get it off the truck. When two different employees of your branch answer with the same question most people would believe it. A unidentified male said that he had read my email. The unit was on the back of the truck and he and another person with him left. I got a text the next day with a $.14 credit to my account. I checked my account and found that I had been charged for the full-day rental, but not a delivery. The unit was picked up very close to the half-day time. In an all honesty, I would’ve thought that they would’ve just charged me for the half day rental and nothing else since this entire situation was caused by misinformation from two different employees.

  EXCELLENT rental experience. Highly responsive customer service. Rented a small but substantial John Deere 24” bucket excavator for a week as part of dredging front yard pond in Salisbury. Excellent high functioning equipment, well powered to maximize performance, great stability, well maintained. I’m a high functioning homeowner but with limited experience who felt very supported with my ambitious project. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

  I rented an overseeder from Sunbelt on Broad St. in Richmond, VA, and I will absolutely be a loyal customer because of the way I was treated there. Their service was fast, helpful, and informative from start to finish. The manager, in particular, was what stood out most to me. I spoke with him on the phone before coming in, and he was extremely helpful and receptive to what I needed. When I arrived, he remembered our conversation, got me taken care of quickly, and made the entire rental process easy. What impressed me even more was watching him train another employee while still making sure I was taken care of. He was patient and professional with the employee he was training, while also being attentive, efficient, and genuinely helpful with me as a customer. You can tell a lot about a manager by how they treat both their customers and their employees, and he represented Sunbelt exceptionally well on both fronts. I don't leave many reviews, but service like this deserves to be recognized. I’ll definitely be returning to this location for future equipment rentals and would highly recommend them to anyone in the Richmond area.
