James River Air Conditioning was established in the Richmond community and was built on an entrepreneurial spirit that provides world- class service with all the warmth, spirit and conviction of a locally owned and operated business. This philosophy has kept us growing since 1967. Our Residential Department specializes in home comfort systems. We service and install air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, furnaces, boilers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air cleaners. We service all makes and models of heat pumps, air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, and indoor air quality equipment.Our Commercial Department specializes in commercial comfort systems and building automation systems. Our team of technicians service and install air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, chillers, VAV systems, cooling towers, duct systems, ventilation systems, economizers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air cleaners.Both our residential and commercial service departments offer a variety of preventive maintenance plans, from basic maintenance to full coverage including repair parts and labor. We also offer electrical and plumbing services, including wiring, upgrades, water heaters, backflow preventers, and medical gas piping.Our Energy Solutions Group is exploring all practical energy strategies that will make more and more sense for our clients as they seek clean, renewable, safe power that reduces our dependence on foreign oil. We provide home energy audit services and offer practical green solutions including solar, geothermal, and insulation services.

He was very polite, professional and courteous. He explained most of what he was checking and made a suggestion about addressing the humidity level in our home. We are very satisfied with our new system and highly recommend James River Heating and Air.

He answered all of my concerns even after he had finished the job he went back and checked for additional duct work to answer my concerns. He is a really kind n great young man. I've work for you guys back in 02-04 and that's why I decided to pick JRA I know from working there that everyone knows there stuff and is really nice and respectful to there customers. But all in all I give my tech a 6.5 star,but it's not up there, but thanks James River for serving me and the rest of Richmond and it's surrounding county's with heat and air definitely a need.

I have stayed so long because of the exceptional service that I receive from my first call for service to the great technician that they always send. Today 10/6/26 was no different. I scheduled my annual AC & Furnace Maintenance check. My technician Andrew was very personable and professional. He thought outside of the box as to how to get my old furnace working properly again during my maintenance check. He took the time to explain to me my furnace issue and how he fixed it! He got my AC ready for 2027. I highly recommend James River Heating & AC if you want to be treated with honesty as they have never tried to get me to buy anything that I didn’t need. They have also provided plumbing services and only recommended the things that I needed to fix my plumbing issues. I would welcome any James River Heating & AC technician back to my home for needed services!
