- CLchris lamAug 12, 20261.0Service technician misdiagnosed a leak on my 4 year old heat pump that is under warranty that only covers parts. He put stop leak and refrigerant in the unit and charged 650.00 dollars and 2 weeks later I had the same problem. He came back and discovered that the aluminum coil was leaking that should have been checked the on the first time out. Now I have a bill for 2300.00 dollars for a 4 year old system that's under warranty.

I got a Trane certified technician to look into it, he quoted $3000 for repair to replace the indoor evaporator coil. Star Heating & Cooling installed this pile of garbage in 2020 a couple of years before I bought the house. I called them twice about it and they have the audacity of telling me they will not help or take a look unless I paid $300 for them to do diagnosis again. I have attached the video where you can clearly see their garbage work, you don't even need special equipment to see the leak. Edit for the owner: Actually I have every right to take it out on you because not only your install is now costing me a lot of money and all I asked from you was a quote for the repair. You said you have the right to refuse unless I pay a $300+ for diagnosis and I call that extortion. Also you must be really proud of your work when all I hear ont he phone is excuses to discharge you from any responsibility in the matter.
