I was trying to get a quote for a roof and head set up an appointment after speaking to somebody from the home show in Richmond and they called me to set it up they were going to come out on a Thursday night at 6:00. A few days before they were calling to confirm and said they wanted to speak to me for just a minute and a half and I said I'm at work I can't no one told me that they would be needing to talk more than just to come out to look at my house. In the last day I got two more phone calls and then to my amazement I get a call at 6:00 saying they wanted to talk more about the project before sending somebody out it seems to be very high pressure sales and trying to sell more than what I asked for.

Stephen Rayson and his partner were absolutely wonderful, they installed two entry doors and two storms. They were very professional and didn't mind someone talking to them while they worked. The doors are better than we expected. I wasn't sure if I picked the right doors and colors. Absolutely beautiful 😍

Had a great experience with this company. I had an issue with water getting into my basement and needed someone to come figure out the issue quickly. I had an inspection appointment for the next day. Carlos was great, very personable, patience, and no pushy sales tactics (which I got from other companies I got quotes from). He also went out of his way to answer questions I had and help me during the install which isn’t technically part of his job. He was also very thorough during the inspection and helpfully pointed out anything he saw that could be contributing to my problems with my home. My house was built in 1999 and gutters needed to be replaced. I was quoted something significantly less than other gutter companies and that would address my water maintenance issues. The install to replace my gutters was scheduled quickly and the install itself was very quick. The installation team was kind and professional. There was a minor confusion about the scope of work that was quickly sorted out (that’s where Carlos helped me clear it all up). And within a couple hours of the job being finished an inspector came out to make sure it was all done well. Would definitely recommend based on my experience.

What an awful experience. I made an appointment with Home Genius to have someone take a look at my roof due to a leak. From the time I scheduled it until the day of, I received a phone call and text every single day to remind me, which felt completely unnecessary. Fast forward to the appointment: I didn’t realize having someone look at a leak would result in the highest-pressure sales pitches I've ever experienced. I truly thought the tech would come out, inspect the roof, give me a quote, and let me make a decision. Instead, I was fear-mongered into believing I needed an entire new roof immediately. The salesperson even quizzed me on what he had said earlier in his pitch about the company, as if I were stupid. Then came the quote: a financing plan of $399–$425 a month for TWENTY YEARS (which he recommended) for my 1,900 sq ft home. That comes out to roughly $96,000. I don’t know who would fall for that. When I told him I needed to consult with the other homeowner and figure out how to financially swing it (a completely reasonable thing to do), he asked how much time I needed, then claimed the price would go up by $8,000 the very next day due to the "uncertainty of petroleum prices." When I pushed back and said I wouldn't make a decision of that caliber on the spot, he was irritated. He started scoffing at me while saying things like, "I’m not trying to start anything." I would certainly hope not. This company pressures people into making asinine, on-the-spot financial commitments that warrant careful thought and a second opinion. Which I got. The second roofer, who was respectful, and zero-pressure, told me an entirely new roof is not needed and that the leak is isolated, just as I originally thought. There are a few other minor issues that Home Genius didn’t even catch that can be queued up for future work. For comparison, he mentioned that a full roof replacement on my home shouldn't exceed $17,000. Home Genius quoted me $96,000, which isn't just wildly overpriced, it’s predatory. Please find yourself a licensed, low-pressure roofer who does quality, honest work, and avoid this company. I have no idea how they have good reviews, though I found it telling that the salesperson specifically brought up their positive online ratings when so many reviews here mirror my exact experience.
