  We chose Iron Horse Restorations because of their outstanding Google reviews and the many comments saying they handled insurance claims and guided homeowners through the restoration process. Unfortunately, our experience was very different. I want to be clear that this review is not about the subcontractors. Every crew that worked in our home was professional, courteous, and did quality work. They deserve credit for the work they performed. Our frustration is with Iron Horse’s project management and communication. Throughout our insurance claim, we often felt like we were the middleman between Iron Horse and our insurance company rather than having a restoration company manage the process. At one point, an entire month passed with little to no progress after we were told the necessary insurance documentation had been provided. Things only started moving again after several emails, calls and additional involvement from a flooring specialist. Communication continued to be an issue for the remainder of the project. We were given a project schedule that was not effectively managed when work finished ahead of schedule, resulting in unnecessary delays. Toward the end of the project, our project manager, Alex, stopped responding to emails and phone calls altogether. We had to contact Iron Horse’s main office ourselves just to find out when our stove and dishwasher would be reinstalled. Even after the repairs were completed, the communication didn’t improve. As of writing this review, it has been 10 days since the project was finished, and we have not received a follow-up call, a final invoice, or any communication from Iron Horse. The positive Google reviews gave us confidence that we were hiring a company that would make a stressful insurance restoration easier. Instead, we spent months chasing updates, following up on our own project, and trying to keep things moving ourselves. If you’re considering Iron Horse for a complex insurance restoration, I recommend asking detailed questions about who will manage your project, how communication will be handled, and what level of coordination you should expect. Based on our experience, those were the areas where Iron Horse fell far short of our expectations.

  My insurance company hired Iron Horse Restoration to perform the water remediation in my crawlspace and overall am very happy with them. Ryan, the project manager, was very kind and communicative and let me know what was happening every step of the way. I never felt like I was not a high priority for them. The only reason I knocked a star is because it seemed the company was short on equipment (specifically dehumidifiers) which caused the drying out process to take much longer than we all expected. If they had had the right equipment from the beginning it probably would have taken less than half the time. However, this was out of the project manager’s control and he did his best to work with what he had and see it through.

  Ryan and Zach were the gentlemen that have been working in our home. It was a large task, but they were utter professionals, and were quick in their work. Ryan was honest, communicative, and answered any question I had with great detail. Zach was attentive to our needs and listened well to Ryan’s instructions. For any future needs, we may just utilize Iron Horse for Ryan and Zach. Phenomenal guys, and even better execution of their duties.

  I am highly satisfied with the service I received for Iron Horse Restoration. The technicians were professional, polite, and knowledgeable. They worked directly with my insurance on payment. They were flexible with my schedule and punctual. I would recommend them for any water restoration needs.

  We received excellent service during a very difficult time, which was caused by water damage. It was a major restoration project with many different areas being addressed! Carl LaBelle was very professional, efficient, and caring during the months long process. His attention to each detail made the process much easier! God blessed the work that was done and we highly recommend Iron Horse Restoration!
