  Lenny Berger and his team of designers and craftsmen provided us with an amazing experience from start to finish, designing and renovating our basement remodel. If you are considering a larger project for your home, I would highly recommend HandyMensch. Lenny is budget conscious, thorough, extremely well-organized and a sheer pleasure to work with. By budget conscious I mean to say that there were never any surprises when it came to costs. During the entire process we were always informed of costs if they varied at all from the initial proposal. His team was professional, friendly and considerate. The working crew consistently kept the area clean and organized throughout the project. They treated our property with respect and we seemed always welcomed to inspect the progress and ask any questions. We were consistently kept up to date on plans as well as the progress of the project which was completed by the projected deadline despite unforeseen challenges (such as severe winter conditions). Lenny's experience with renovations and remodeling was invaluable as he was able to guide us through the process and help us avoid, or at least anticipate, common pitfalls in the long journey of designing the space and executing that design. Moreover, he and his team patiently adapted the design to our changing vision and he kept us informed of reaching a stage where a final decision was needed. We are very happy with the work done by HandyMensch and we are enjoying a much improved living space.

  I am several years late in posting this review! As soon as Handy Mensch finished our beautiful bathroom remodel, I had a broken wrist and ankle so didn’t follow up and finish the new look with towels, artwork, etc. Well…I’ve finally gotten around to doing that and WOW! I love the way our new bathroom looks. The Handy Mensch folks were accurate with their estimates in terms of budget and timing and did an excellent job.

  We needed a master bathroom remodel, so we solicited a few bids. HandyMensch was not the cheapest bid, but we knew that we should go with Lenny because he carefully thought through our unique situation (a very narrow bathroom from the 90s) and clearly articulated our options. We made the right choice. Lenny and his team carefully managed the entire project from start to finish. The entire project ran like clockwork, no significant glitches or delays. We've seen our friends deal with absolutely disastrous renovations, so we are very happy that we didn't have to deal with any of that. And we are thrilled with the final outcome. It is nicer than we thought would be possible given the space. I can't recommend Lenny and team highly enough - if you want a well-run and high-quality renovation, go with him.

  You have to monitor too much and fight too much to get a decent job done. I had to pay a hefty fee to an engineer for my load-bearing wall, except it WASN’T a load-bearing wall!! Got half the fee back when I pushed for it. Work they do directly can be ok, but work they contract out is not supervised well enough and has caused major problems for us.
