I am writing to express my profound disappointment and serious concern regarding the recent installation and subsequent performance of the HVAC system provided by Russell’s-American Mechanical. A brand-new unit was installed at my property in February of 2025, a significant investment made with the expectation of reliable service for years to come.
Due to the seasonal timing of the installation, a comprehensive test of the cooling function was not possible until the warmer weather arrived in the summer. Upon activating the system this year for cooling purposes, it immediately became apparent that the unit was not functioning correctly, failing to adequately cool our premises.
We contacted your service department, and I must commend the professionalism and forthrightness of the technician dispatched to diagnose the issue. He thoroughly inspected the system and suggested the presence of a significant refrigerant leak.
However, the subsequent response from Russell’s-American Mechanical management has been utterly unacceptable. This is a newly installed unit, barely a year old and put into operational service for its primary cooling function.
This stance is frankly bewildering and reflects a severe lapse in customer commitment. It is a fundamental expectation that a new, professionally installed HVAC system will perform without defect, particularly during its early years. The existence of a major refrigerant leak at this early stage strongly suggests either a manufacturing defect in the unit supplied or, more pertinently, a flaw in the installation process itself that resulted in a leak from the outset. Your refusal to address this issue implies a complete lack of accountability for the quality of both your products and your workmanship.
Given this deeply unsatisfactory experience and your company's unwillingness to stand behind your services for a critical new installation, I am compelled to advise against Russell’s-American Mechanical to any prospective clients. My dissatisfaction is absolute.

Markece, MIke and. Paul were FANTASTIC. They were very professional and went above and beyond during their time here working on our new system. Markece walked me through everything they did in the attic and showed me everything on the new thermostat as well. The also cleaned everything up including vacuuming anything that fell on the carpets. I can't recommend them or this company enough.

I have been generally pleased with their work. I have a maintenance contract with them and am leaving because of scheduling issues. They are supposed to call for scheduling at same time each yeaR. Usually I have to call them.
In April was told they would be here in MAY. Called early May To get an exact date. None available available till Ju ly. Unacceptable!!!

Had a valve replaced and it cost me 1700.00 for less than 2 hours of work. I asked for an itemized receipt and this mis what they told me:
Our Pricing is based on a flat-rate structure for the completed repair, rather than an hourly labor rate or an itemized parts-and-labor breakdown.
The part itself was covered under warranty and was not charged to you. The flat-rate price is set based on the repair being performed and what is typically involved to complete that repair. This helps keep the price consistent whether the repair is completed more quickly, takes longer than expected, involves difficult access, or includes other unforeseen conditions that are still within the scope of the repair.
The service provided included the technician's repair work, refrigerant used, installation of the warranty-covered component, pressure testing the system, and completing a system check to help confirm the repair was successful and that there were no other immediate underlying issues.
The part was covered under warranty so that cost me nothing. The freon replacement is 500.00 at the most. So basically they charged me 1200.00 for 2-3 hours of work. They say they have a flat rate based on the repair being made no matter how long it takes. So because mine was an easy fix and took under 3 hours I'm supposed to pay for someone else's more difficult repair. This makes no sense. I will not use this shady company again.

We have our HVAC system serviced twice a year for maintenance to keep it running smoothly, and this really works well for us. We had our spring visit the other day, our technician was Isaiah, and he was great! Very personable, professional, efficient, and obviously knew what he was doing. Very nice young man. He gave our system a clean bill of health and we'll have it serviced again in the fall. We feel this is the smart thing to do rather than just waiting until there's a problem. Russell's has been great to work with! Highly recommend.
