I had wood flooring installed in my living room, and was told at the time of the measuring that there would be a nice transition where the living room floor meets the kitchen floor. They even lifted out the kitchen floor heating vent to see what was in the kitchen. I didn't find out until after it was all complete that the flooring in the kitchen is almost a full inch above the new living room floor and that there is no 'nice' transition piece that can be used there. Finally after a month of not hearing from them they wanted to install a transition piece that would make the difference in the floor levels even more. Had I known that there would be such a huge difference before the install, I would have used a different type of wood in the living room or had the kitchen done as well. The living room looks awesome though!!
