  The service we received from Zander Futrell from Scott Hale was exceptional. We had a small emergency over the weekend with our expansion tank on our water heater and Zander replied to our call. He replaced the tank quickly and gave us advice about maintenance and maintaining our water heater system for the future. I felt the price was reasonable with it being late on a Saturday night. I recommend this company if all techs are as personable & professional & Zander.

  Called on a Saturday. Mid morning. I was told the technician would be here between 11 and 3. I was ok with that. Then I got a text saying between 8 am and 4 pm. Then I got another text stating between 3 and 5 pm. I told them if they change my time or show up at or before 5 I would use another company. So basically they wasted my day. It's after 5pm. I will never call Scott Hale again

  My outdoor faucet was leaking. I called and they were able to send someone the next day. Brandon Romo came and inspected it and found that indeed it was leaking and needed replaced. He explained the process needed, showed me pictures and what the cost would be. I agreed and he got right to work. When done, he showed me the failed part along with pictures of the replacement. I was very satisfied with the work and Brandon was very professional and very personable.

  Interesting experience, i was called by Barlow Service Experts and they offered me a complementary water heater flush and furnace tune-up. Scott Hale heating and air showed up for the appointment (they were surprised, too). I got a quote for some furnace work (not sure what more came of the tune-up--my air filter was a month old, so if it's not replaceed no big deal (i was told by the Barlow rep it would be included)). The work on the blower is more then I am wanting and willing to spend, but that's not the technician's fault. It's information, gives me an idea of what's wrong and pricing. The flush went well and I got all my questions answers. Anyway, interesting experience that it was scheduled by one company and farmed out to another for the labor. Again, it was complementary, so, no qualms on this end.

  I’ve been a Scott Hale customer for many years now. They’ve done many jobs for me and they also replaced my water heater, furnace and AC unit when they conked out. The old furnace went out the day before Thanksgiving one year, and they had a new one installed and running the same day. I appreciate the employees who have provided good service over the years. In the beginning I referred friends to SH, saying they are not necessarily cheap but they do good work. (Looking back, I realize however that I overpaid for the new water heater and other some other major expenses, I was just naïve and didn’t do due diligence. More about overcharging below.) That being said, I’ve given up on SH. Too often my encounters with its employees go wrong. The person they send may or may not have experience with my issue, and they never ask for help from other employes. One recommended I have a new air intake installed (he came twice and couldn’t get rid of the awful noise) and when I finally got a different guy over, he fixed the whistling noise just by recaulking the area; it was gone in minutes. Another guy made excuses for the (unsupervised) people who ripped up large patches of drywall because they didn’t know to go through an interior wall; SH paid for the extra drywall repairs, which I appreciated. Another guy freaked out about the “sewage” he imagined must be under the board beneath my sink (there was none). Another couldn’t tolerate me saying that I had never had a leaky condensation pipe until they replaced the AC. My 10+ years in my home meant nothing, and this is consistent: many times the repairmen will not give credence to anything I say, and however neutrally I state it, react as if I’m challenging them in some way. The latest incident is the $1800 estimate for replacing my kitchen sink (labor only). The guy said it would take 2-3 hours to remove the old sink (!!) and added that he would “cap the pipes” so I wouldn’t lose water to the rest of house. I mean, there’s upselling and then there’s just BS. The plumber I hired removed the old sink in 20 mins and is charging a few hundred dollars for the whole job (including installing the new one). And of course the water to the house didn’t have to be shut off, there are valves right under the sink. I’m really appalled they would just…lie.
