The first experience we had with them was good. Nice 2 plumbers came over. A bit overpriced it seemed. $8,200 is more than the $6,500 Chat GPT suggested. But they did a good job. Very polite. They want you to sign up for their membership which was fine.
So, because we had membership, my wife, a number of months later, says, "They will do a free checkup/tune up of the airco and heating systems." And that's where it all went wrong. The sales rep was using fearmongering tactics and shady words in his sales pitch to try to upsell us on a $31,000 replacement package. They didn't clean up after themselves, so they left us with a mess. So, I felt pressured and deceived and I left a 1-star review. I don't like it when people try to tell me I need something expensive when I don't. There was nothing wrong with our airco units, except they were a bit older. The "checkup" just seemed like an opportunity for them to sell us a new one.
Anyway, a week or so later, we look into getting our bathroom fixed. We compare several quotes, and Element Plumbing seems to be decent. Also, the person who came to check seemed professional and honest. So, after some considerations, we decided to go with them again. So, we sign the financing, the papers, etc.
A few days later I call to set up an appointment. And the General Manager says something like, "I'm confused you want to work with us after such a review." So, I explain to him why I was severely unimpressed with his HVAC sales rep and why I posted it. But instead of saying something like, "Is there anything we can do for you to have you edit your review?" he simply defended the sales rep who tried to talk us into the expensive sales package. This conversation was so ridiculous. First, he tried to excuse his employee by saying that "nobody ever complained about him before." How does that even matter? If he did something in our home, then shouldn't you take the customer seriously? And then he tried to tell us that we needed to replace our airco. So, I asked him, "If we replaced our airco for $31,000 and we save let's say $50 a month, how long do you think we'll need to break even? Our airco is working fine." He also had a hard time believing, it seems, that his airco sales rep didn't clean up the mess, but my wife and I both witnessed it. We had to put back the ladder, the lawnmower, and the grass cutter.
And something that my wife brought to my attention just now is that the airco sales rep said the electricity problems we've been having was only the city's fault. Well, her brother, an electrician, came over yesterday and just made sure the lines were all connected. It's a bit of a mistake the sales rep overlooked that simple issue. The airco guy was an electrician, he claimed, so although he was nice, he wasn't very thorough.
Anyway, back to the phone conversation. I explained to him that the sales rep for the plumbing who gave us the quote was someone we wanted to work with. So, yes, if that guy comes to do our bathroom, then we will gladly work with them. However, the General Manager kept pushing and suggesting he didn't want to work with someone who left a bad review. Finally, I said, "Fine. Cancel everything." And all I got was an abrupt. "Ok. Have a good day." Hung up.
So, my final recommendation is NOT to work with this company. Without more words of frustration, I hope you understand from this story why I reached that conclusion.
