  Don’t use Red Star Cooling I requested repairs to two specific problems, and their technician was unable to resolve either one. I did not need diagnostic services, as I already understood the nature of the problems and explained them when I scheduled the service call. Since neither issue was resolved, I received no meaningful value from the visit. Still Red Star Cooling (doing business as Kingwood AC repair even though they're not in Kingwood) continues to send me invoices for doing nothing.

  Almost 20-year customer who has spent tens-of-thousands of dollars with Red Star. In August 2026, we spent about $10k to have our AC unit replaced. Shortly thereafter the drain line was clogged. They sent a technician out who supposedly cleared it. The line was clogged again the next day. They sent the same technician out again who when he left told us this time we were all clear and everything was good. That evening we found two sinks in our upstairs bathroom overflowing with water. We spent $500 with a plumber and received a repair quote for several thousand dollars. Apparently the technician had simply moved the clog from the AC line to our plumbing drain line and the AC condensation continued dripping. At our request, the Redstar owner came out. He was completely unapologetic and essentially blamed us. According to him, this is a frequent problem because people's plumbing lines have extensive buildup. If that is the case, there are two problems with what happened. First, an AC tech should not undertake this repair-instead the customer should be told to contact a plumber. Second, at the very least, the customer should be warned about this potential problem and told to monitor their drains for the next day. While he refused any responsiblity whatsoveer, the owner did say he would submit a claim and we would hear from someone shortly. It has now been 10 ten days with no follow up.
