  DO YOUR RESEARCH — THEN DO SOME MORE. Our house was nowhere close to being ready for the blue-tape inspection or closing when we were told it was. We came in from out of state multiple times, and on three separate occasions the house still was not ready despite being told otherwise. When they finally said it was ready, I basically had the entire house covered in blue tape. The warranty process has been just as frustrating. Getting legitimate repairs completed is a pain, many of the subcontractors seem unprepared, and half the time they show up without even knowing what they are supposed to repair — meaning another appointment has to be scheduled. Warranty claims now go through a third-party process that can take forever to review, and legitimate items can still be denied. At this point, for some repairs you are almost better off fixing it yourself than risking a “repair” making the original problem worse or creating another one. These houses go up extremely fast, and it shows. There have been numerous reports throughout the community of leaking roofs and other major issues that simply should not be happening on new construction. Are the finishes nicer than some builders like D.R. Horton? Sure. That does not necessarily mean the underlying construction quality is significantly better. Nice countertops and finishes do not make up for rushed workmanship. Starlight (cheaper), Ashton Woods (middle), CastleRock (expensive) — after watching this community get built, I’m convinced a lot of these new-build homes suffer from the same problem: build fast, control costs, and move on to the next one. And yes, the sales office is friendly and helpful. They are trying to sell you a house. For what these homes cost, I expected much better quality control, construction oversight, and warranty support. Would I buy again? No. Do your research. Then do more. Then buy somewhere else.

  When you buy a house, everything seems great at first. But when it's time to get things fixed during the first year, they start shuffling you between different people, and your requests completely drop through the cracks. Then, even when you show proof of the original dates and communication, you just get ignored. ​All they care about is selling cookie-cutter houses with poor craftsmanship. I’d suggest looking into another community—or take a gamble and try your luck here.

  Kristen was amazing she was our sales rep and was so good about EVERYTHING. She was knowledgeable and her and my realtor got me the best possible deal but not just a sale they went above and beyond to make sure the buying process was stress free. Kristen kept us updated with pictures she just went above and beyond for us. Since we were coming from out of state she did alot of leg work for us to give us piece of mind. The house is a new build and had some imperfections but Matt makes sure to make them right. Honestly we couldn't be happier with our home and the location. Its enough in the country away from town to give us that small town feeling but close enough to get what we need done.

  Houses are ok but the contractors and subcontractors are horrible. Over ten residents have had flat tires due to a lack of accountability about construction debris in the roads. Trash constantly building up on construction sites and blowing into neighboring properties. Contractors working at early hours and days they are not supposed to be working according to Ashton Woods own site rules. Contractors also bringing family and pets to construction sites. Maybe once this place is finished it will be nice to live but as of now it is not a great place to live due to constantly having to clean or fix things broken by crews working on the houses. Also HOA dues are absurdly high for how little the HOA does to actually help homeowners.
