  I called Groundworks-Inver Grove Heights for an estimate of an older basement stabilization. Charley B. and I figured out a plan of action and he created a great map of the work to be done. Nick (Tony) and his crew of three completed the work as was discussed and completed on time - even working in the rain. When questions arose, he called the Supervisor, Aaron, who then stopped by to help out. They did a great job with installation of different stabilization methods and clean-up.

  The installation team lead told me that the dehumidifier would be put in a certain location (which was a good spot). When I returned home, after the team left, I saw the dehumidifier was installed in a different location (a poor one due to its proximity to our furnace) making it difficult for any HVAC technician to work on the unit. Additionally, the workers broke a light fixture in the crawl space, and we had to purchase and install a new one. I do not know what we were expecting from an encapsulation project, but I have to say what we received does seem like a good value for $15,000.

  David was easy to work with and did a great job evaluating the repair needs for a sinking & cracking cement slab in our garage. Marc and Brandon, we're very efficient at implementing what needed to be done. In some areas, they went over and above to complete the project. There was a minor issue satisfying the contract's requirements, but all ended well, and everything was completed to our satisfaction. We were very thankful they could raise and stabilize the garage floor so it was more level. Their 5-year annual inspection is nice to have, as insurance. They would add more polyfoam if necessary. Thank you, Groundworks.

  We had an excellent experience with Groundworks and their entire team. The team of Mark W, Jon, Patrick and Albert were amazing and they worked their butts off. Answered all my questions, were extremely considerate of keeping things as clean as possible (given the nature of the work) and being super safe. While the cost was perhaps a bit higher than some others - the quality and finished product were worth it. Their approach to exterior piers was exactly what we needed and provided excellent results. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them if you are seeking this type of service.

  Overall, my experience with Groundworks was mixed. I am happy with the quality of the completed work, but the scheduling and communication before the project were frustrating. My initial impression of Deven, the salesman who provided the estimate, was not great. However, after comparing Groundworks with 4 other companies, I decided to move forward. The work was scheduled for Tuesday, 8/18, between 9:00 and 10:00 am. On Thursday, 8/13, I contacted Deven to confirm the date and was told everything was still on schedule. I arranged my work schedule accordingly. When no one arrived by 10:15 on 8/18, I contacted Deven. He said he would check on it, but still had no information when I followed up at 10:42. I was eventually told that the job had been rescheduled and that Deven and the office representative Sabrina had supposedly contacted me on Sunday, 8/16. That was not true. I received no calls, voicemails, texts, or other notifications. Deven sent me a screenshot of his 8/16 conversation with Sabrina in the office, which showed that he had told her I was out of town and would confirm the next day. Another lie. There was never an initial call or follow-up with me. I had cleared my schedule and ultimately lost an entire week of work because the change was not communicated. I also tried contacting Sabrina but received no return call. Deven directed me to his supervisor, Greg. No concession was offered for the inconvenience. But Greg was responsive and easy to work with. Once the work began, 8/24, the experience improved considerably.. The foreman and crew communicated daily about arrival times, explained the process, provided progress photos, and helped troubleshoot a few issues. Gael, German, and Albert did an outstanding job, and I was impressed with their professionalism and workmanship. Overall, I am happy with the completed crawl space/pier and beam work. The project also includes a warranty, so I will update this review if I ever need warranty service. If you use Groundworks, confirm the start date directly with the office shortly before the project begins. Do not assume that a previously confirmed date is still on schedule. The crew gets 5 stars from me. The scheduling and communication leading up to the project do not.
