  Called Beluga when the outdoor unit was humming and wouldn’t start. They replaced the dual-run capacitor with a U.S.-made unit instead of a bargain import. Good decision. Cheap capacitors fail early in this heat, and a weak cap can take the compressor with it. After the swap the system started cleanly. I won’t pretend the invoice was fair. Capacitor: $325. Refrigerant top-off: $190. Total $515. Local shops usually land a capacitor swap in the $150–$300 range. The American cap is worth something extra. It is not worth doubling the job. A top-off also isn’t a repair if the system is leaking — that’s a refill. Techs were fine. Work got done. If you want a decent part and same-day service, they’ll do it. Get the quote in writing first and ask what the capacitor brand/rating is and how many pounds of refrigerant they’re adding. I paid for quality. I also paid a premium. Change “U.S.-made” to the actual brand if you have it (Titan HD, AmRad, Packard, etc.). Don’t claim a leak or a brand you weren’t shown.

  Raul Garcia did an incredible job! From start to finish, he provided a great diagnosis and showed he was highly knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the problem and the solution clearly, and then got right to work—he knocked it out efficiently and professionally. Our air conditioning issue was handled quickly, and the results were excellent. We truly appreciate Raul’s great work and attention to detail.   Shane was great. He checked the HVAC unit, explained the issues he found and the cost. He was able to tell how old the unit and other pertinent information even though the ink was faded off of the outside unit. He completed the work quickly and efficiently. He did not pressure me into agreeing to all of the items that needed to be completed. He told me specifically why it wasn't cooling and that the other issues would become a problem sooner or later. I appreciate the honesty. He completed all of the items that needed to be repaired in a short time frame. Thank you Shane for helping us out when we really needed it.   Dalvin and Jonathan came out and not only listened to my issues, but were also quick to diagnose and make the repairs at a reasonable price. They were able to explain everything clearly, as well as suggest other possible future updates that could prevent other issues in the future. They showed me pictures, took me to the units to explain things, and made me feel like they had my best interests in mind. They were honest and straightforward - i never felt pressured to purchase things i didn't need. They also checked all the things that required maintenance to make sure I was good (I was, but I appreciate them checking while they were already there.) They also sent all documentation to me via email, including pictures, so I can have it on hand for reference (I keep a home repairs binder, so this is especially helpful so I can print things out and document.) I have used Beluga in the past a few times, and they are always the first ones I call for HVAC repairs! Excellent work always!!

  Oscar did a fine job for us. He got here when promised and took care of our immediate problem quickly and accurately. Unfortunately, we have an AC unit on its last leg. He inspected the entire unit and showed us where the failure points are likely to happen (in the not too distant future). Having a somewhat limited knowledge of HVAC systems, his conclusions were legit, albeit costly. That’s just the nature of the beast with an AC system nowadays. He did work with us to help bring the cost down and offered multiple financing options. All in all, very pleased with the visit.
