Chris was absolutely amazing! Not only was he extremely knowledgeable and able to get the job done quickly and efficiently, but he also showed up with the happiest, most positive personality. He was incredibly friendly, personable, and made the entire experience so pleasant from start to finish. It’s refreshing to work with someone who is not only great at what they do, but genuinely seems to enjoy helping people. Chris definitely went above and beyond, and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Excellent service all around!

Sergio with Alamo Water Softeners was exceptionally thorough! He took the time to explain what the problem was, how he was going to address it and showed me how to operate the system. He and his colleague were very kind and respectful. He made me feel safe and comfortable as he worked in my home. Thank you!
Nine years later, some things are still worth coming back to.
Alamo Water Softeners installed my complete system nine years ago. Great installation, reliable equipment and never an issue.
Yesterday, John handled the water softener maintenance and tuneup, checked the reverse osmosis system and filter levels, and brought four bags of salt. No trip to the store and no hauling heavy bags. A small gesture, perhaps, but that kind of consideration matters.
Over the years, I was persuaded to try an independent service that promised lower prices and senior friendly service. It turned out to be an expensive lesson and a good reminder that promises don’t always mean better value.
So, back to AWS and something becoming harder to find these days: honest, old fashioned customer service with fair, reasonable pricing. A local business where you can call with a question, get real help and not feel like every little thing comes with another charge.
Nine years after that original installation, AWS has earned something more valuable than a sale: trust.
Glad to be back!
08/11/2026 Update : Back to 5 Stars. James called me and we had a really good conversation. I felt heard, and I am happy with the resolution. Thank you James for continuing to represent AWS well. I hope your Customer service skill can be relayed to your team to continue strengthening the relationship between the company and the customers. Cheers
08/10/2026 :First, I have AWS Water softener system for almost 6 years now and they are still working as expected.
Reducing some stars so others can be aware of a sour Customer Service situation I had recently around June-July 2026.
AWS sold me a defective RO filter, causing my RO system to not work, and me spending hours trying to figure out what I did wrong. After calling AWS, they sent out a tech (James, and he is very good at his job)and his diagnosis confirmed the filter was defective, and changed out a new one. The new filter was free of charge, but I was still charged for the visit, $120.
I called AWS later, asking if AWS can refund, fully or partially, as it was the defective filter sold directly by AWS that caused me to have to call in the first place. Also counting the weeks I didn’t have water from the system, I had to go out and buy water, and also water from the line going straight to the drain because of the filter. I’m not demanding, I asked. The Customer Service people gave me a run around, even snarky with me at one point, telling me they would call me back with a resolution. I haven’t received any call still.
The money is minor, and it’s disappointing to see AWS cares more about $100 than taking responsibility for their products.

Personally, I’m someone who would NEVER leave a review, whether my experience was good or bad. For this to be my first review should hopefully open up some eyes. If you’d like to know about 90% of what I went through, please read this.
My experience with Alamo Water Softeners was HORRENDOUS. What was supposed to be a one-day installation turned into a three-week ordeal.
As a first-time homeowner new to Texas, I was told a water softener was almost a necessity. After comparing companies, I chose Alamo because of their reputation and was assured by David in sales that their team consisted of licensed professionals who would take care of everything. He tested my water, recommended a system with pre-plumbing, and I spent just over $5,000. After the sale, communication from him was almost nonexistent. He called once for information but never seemed involved again. He was also supposed to return to retest the water but sent someone else because of a last-minute meeting.
The installation started with Jose and another technician. They dug, drilled under my driveway, and worked throughout the day, but after 6-7 hours they couldn’t finish the job. They left my front yard looking terrible, called a manager because they ran into problems, and simply said they’d have to come back another day.
A few days later, Bishop came out to help finish the installation. They finally completed it, but my newly installed sod, which had only been down for about two weeks, had been destroyed and turned into mud. When I asked how it would be fixed, I was told they would return to level the ground, spread seed, and restore the yard.
Raymond, the Field Operations Manager, reached out after hearing about my experience. He apologized, offered a few bags of salt that I did not receive, and assured me everything would be made right. When I asked about the yard restoration Bishop had promised, Raymond said nothing had ever been scheduled and wasn’t sure what I was referring to. Apparently there had been a miscommunication. He quickly sent a crew out, but they spent less than 10-15 minutes stomping the ground before leaving almost immediately.
Raymond later said sod had been ordered but was delayed by weather. Then I was told they couldn’t get it and had to send someone elsewhere to find some. He also told me both he and Bishop would be on site during the repair, but Raymond never showed up due to another appointment.
When the crew finally laid the sod, it looked awful. They repeatedly said they weren’t landscapers, and I understand that. But the grass was laid so poorly that even a fourth grader could have done a better job.
Three weeks later, my yard still looks like a mess. Throughout the process there was poor communication, conflicting information, missed expectations, and work that never matched what was promised. I have photos showing how my yard was left after every visit and videos documenting the work that was performed.
I honestly cannot recommend Alamo Water Softeners. Spending over $5,000 and waiting three weeks for a company with a 4.9-star rating and over 3,500 reviews, while constantly hearing about their “licensed professionals,” was incredibly disappointing. My family is now left dealing with a yard that still looks terrible. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through what we experienced.
