Transparent pricing, no pressure sales tactics, and the tech took the time to explain my system to me and mention any concerns he noticed that didn’t necessarily entail immediate action. All in all, Tyler was great and the experience was a breeze. Signed up for their maintenance plan and have no regrets.

Samm's is 110% the option for HVAC service. Our annual inspections are not some stop in and cycle the system check but a full system check down to the wiring. They clearly communicate who's coming when they'll be arriving and they are always clean and professional.

Our ac broke suddenly and it was an old system so we figured we'd need to replace it. It was $150 to have them come out on an emergency but we couldn't afford that, so we chose to wait until they had an appointment. They ended up coming about a week after we originally called. Their diagnostic fee was $99 and the quote for a system replacement was free. The new attic system was $5500 (we kept the outside unit since that one still worked). The new system works great and everyone was efficient and professional. However, I'm giving 3 stars because I discovered a few days later that one of the workers decided to unplug my garage freezer without saying anything. By the time I discovered it, we lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. This was a huge hit to our finances and we won't be using this company again.

I paid A LOT of money to go with Samm's over less expensive alternatives after reading positive reviews and because I thought I was getting a warranty I could rely on. My unit is still relatively new and it's gone off several times during the hotter time of year, because of a supposed drainage issue. Samms dispatched technicians 3 times over the course of a couple of months. They ate most of the cost of the first site visit under the condition that I enrolled in the the maintenance plan, which I did. Following the last dispatch, I was told (for the first time) that I need to have a plumber look at it, as the drainage line may may be problematic or not configured ideally. I would expect this to have been an issue identified during installation. It is after all part of the system as a whole and apparently one of significant importance, as the symptom is a completely non-functioning unit. This seems like a massive oversight in the original installation/design. I was told existing plumbing was used. I'm not sure if this is common practice or not, but to have to find a plumber to diagnose an issue with the drainage line, then pay whatever the fee is to replace/repair on top of the maintenance program fee, all for a unit that is a less than 4 years old and still under warranty, was a bit disheartening. I went ahead and had a plumber check it out who could not find any clogs/drainage issues, so now I'm out about a grand, and have a unit that stops working intermittently during the worst time of the year in TX and a company unwilling to support the product they installed that is still under "warranty". I would go elsewhere.

Frequently Asked Questions About Samm's Heating and Air Conditioning, Lp

How much does an AC repair typically cost?

When considering AC repair costs, several factors influence the overall expense. The age and type of the AC unit play a crucial role; older systems may require more extensive and costly repairs, while newer models might be less expensive to fix. The complexity of the issue is another significant factor. Minor repairs, such as replacing small components, typically cost less than larger repairs, like replacing the compressor or other major parts. Additionally, the availability of replacement parts can impact costs; if specific components are hard to find or require special ordering, this can lead to higher expenses. Also, whether the system is still under warranty can also affect the final price.

How much does a new AC System cost?

This too varies depending on many factors like size of home, 1 story vs 2 story, the type of system, home automation desires, and many other factors (see the next topic). We find that the average new complete system costs anywhere from $7,000 – $12,500. The fact is it is a very difficult and dangerous task to try to “ballpark” the largest investment, aside from remodeling, in your home. That is why we will recommend sending our design specialist to your home at no cost to discuss your needs, help you understand your options, provide a load calculation and answer any questions. Many times we are offering rebates. We also have special financing with approved credit options to help ease the cost burden.
