  I do NOT recommend using this business for your plumbing needs. Chris gave unsolicited advice on how to glue the plumbing which failed and it ended up costing more money now to fix 3800 feet worth of joints. They did nothing to rectify the situation. I would take your business elsewhere.

  If I could give zero stars I would. My wife and I recently purchased 2" PVC pipe, primer, and solvent cement from the Ferguson location serving the Palestine, TX area for a major project. At checkout, the manager (Chris) said he “was going to do me a favor” and specifically instructed me to prime and glue only one side — the pipe end that slips into the bell — and nothing else. When I questioned the advice, he explained that the bell housing is tapered and that applying primer and glue to both the pipe end and the belled end could cause excess material to pool around the tapered section. He warned that this might heat up and warp or melt the thin wall of the bell, potentially causing a leak. We followed his instructions exactly. After allowing the joints a proper overnight cure, I pressure tested the line and discovered multiple leaks. Nearly every joint was compromised. Chris later confirmed he had given the one-sided gluing instruction and repeated his reasoning. This advice directly contradicts the manufacturer instructions on the glue and primer cans, as well as standard plumbing practice. As a direct result, I now have to cut out and replace 192 bell sections on the line. I had already spent $4,018.54 (including tax) on materials with Ferguson. I am now forced to spend an additional $600+ on repair couplings (which Ferguson quoted at over $800, while I purchased them online for just over $600 including tax and shipping), plus the cost of re-excavating the ditch and hiring extra help to complete the repairs. Ferguson offered only minimal assistance despite the clear damage caused by their manager’s advice. Ferguson’s manager gave harmful, non-standard advice that has caused significant financial damage to my project. Even after admitting the mistake, the company failed to provide meaningful help. I will not be doing business with Ferguson again and strongly caution others against relying on unsolicited technical advice from their staff.
