  My realtor found this builder for me, however I chose to drive by alone to view homes, as my realtor was booked for today, but I was super excited to see the homes and the community. That excitement quickly faded when I arrived and met Aaron. (I met a young lady also, but can’t remember her name, but SHE was extremely pleasant). Aaron looked at me with a frown on his face, and asked me what I needed. I told him that my realtor had taken a look the day before, and referred me there. IMMEDIATELY, before even talking about or showing available homes, Aaron wanted to know what my budget was. I explained to him that I don’t go looking for homes that I can’t afford, and that my realtor doesn’t either, which is why I was there. Aaron proceeded to ask me how much money I had to put down, what monthly payment I could afford, and all with “disgust” and a frown on his face. He even took a price from a random home in the community (that I had yet to even view) and calculated the payment, to make sure I could afford that amount. Now I’m not sure if his problem with me was because I’m tall, I’m a woman, I’m black, I wear glasses, OR that I’m a tall black woman that wears glasses! 🤨 But he definitely prejudged me, and was more worried about my income and what I could afford (even AFTER I made it VERY clear to him what my budget is, and the fact that I can afford most of the homes in the community) than trying to take the time to show me a home. His energy was off from the moment I walked in the door, and his attitude was in line with his extremely negative and prejudicial energy. I’ve worked for the State and Federal government for over 22 consecutive years (I’m also a Veteran) and I have NEVER been treated so poorly and disrespectfully by any builders sales agent in my entire life. I don’t care WHAT incentives they’re offering, I will be going elsewhere with my money, specifically Bloomfield Homes in Ridge Ranch, where I was received and treated with the utmost respect.
