My experience has been extremely disappointing due to a lack of professionalism and failure to honor commitments that were made before closing. Before closing, we were told that pest control would be completed. However, just two days after closing, our home became infested with ants throughout both the upstairs and downstairs. We reported the issue immediately and were assured that it would be addressed. Nearly a month later, nothing has been done, and we are now being told that it is no longer the builder’s responsibility. Another unresolved issue involves a damaged fence panel. During our walkthrough, Ashton Woods agreed to replace the damaged panel. They even brought a replacement on the day of the final walkthrough, but it did not match the existing fence. We were told they would contact the fencing company to install the correct panel. Instead, the unmatched panel was left at our property, and we are now being told they are not legally allowed to replace the fence panel, despite their earlier commitment. My advice to anyone considering buying from Ashton Woods is this: DONOT CLOSE on your home if there are any outstanding issues or promises that have not been completed in writing. Once the sale is finalized, our experience has been that getting commitments honored becomes significantly more difficult. I expected the builder to stand behind the commitments made during the home-buying process. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience.
