Needed replacement faucet compression valve for a commercial kitchen sink I didn't know the brand of, but had the part with me I'm hope they'll have many different ones or at least help me identify the right one. They didn't have a lot and they did not help identify it, though after 5 minute digging in their system they offered me something which was visibly rather different. I ended up going back empty handed, identified the brand - first through Gemini and then on the faucet itself and found what I was looking for online. I suppose there's some value for those looking for copper tubes and fittings - there seemed to be plenty. What I think they should have told me was this: first, go back and look carefully on the faucet itself. There has to be a brand somewhere and that's 80% of the job done. Then go online and google for repair kits and valves for that brand and compare pictures, sizes, thread counts etc. stuff any self-respecting AI would tell you. This is not a hate post. This is in hope it helps someone, possibly even a multi-million dollar company like Ferguson.
