I strongly recommend avoiding this company if you value transparency and fair communication.
My A/C stopped working at 8pm, and I called because they advertise 24/7 emergency A/C repair. After spending about 10 minutes providing my information and scheduling service, I was only then told about the $89 trip charge. This should have been disclosed at the beginning of the call.
Despite the emergency service advertising, I was told the next available appointment was several days away. The only earlier option was a next-day appointment with an 8am to 8pm window. When your A/C is not working, you are already in a difficult position, and this process left me feeling pressured to accept whatever option was available.
The technician was polite, arrived early, and correctly diagnosed a failed capacitor. I have no issue with him personally. My concern was with the pricing process.
I received a quote of nearly $500 for the repair, but I was not given an itemized breakdown. When I asked what I was paying for, including the cost of the part and labor, I could not get a clear answer.
The conversation with the manager was the most frustrating part. I asked for a simple explanation of the charge. Instead of providing a breakdown, he focused on defending the price, explaining business expenses, and only offered a lower price if I signed up for an annual service plan.
After this experience, I researched the repair myself. I purchased a capacitor from a local hardware store for about $25 and replaced it in around 30 minutes, despite never having done this repair before.
I understand that professional HVAC service includes labor, overhead, experience, and other costs. The issue is that customers deserve clear pricing and honest answers before approving a repair.
The technician was professional, but my experience with the company’s pricing process and management response left me uncomfortable.
