This is going to be a rant. Apologies in advance. Our 2 AC's stopped working in May, either at the same time or 1 day apart. By the time we noticed, both were dead. The cause, rats got inside the condenser units and chewed wires. One unit even had a dead rat inside while the other unit showed a rat's nest. One HVAC company assessed the damage and wanted to charge a few $$ short of 8K to fix both units (to include almost $400 for 1 yr of maintenance service). We called another company for a 2nd estimate. It was made clear to them that the issue is to fix the damaged wires and get the ACs running again. Instead, the 2nd company started doing repair work. At first we thought that was good, but they turned out to be even more dishonest than the 1st. They kept putting band aid instead of addressing the real issue. We went through so much anxiety with this company with the AC dying 2x, the 1st time, less than 24 hrs after the fix and the 2nd time, they rewired the AC to bypass the low/high pressure switch. The AC died again 13 days later. After that, we didn't have AC on the 1st floor where we live, for 7 days with each day being around 95F because they said the low/high pressure switch needs to be replaced and the company is waiting on the part to arrive. We finally decided to get rid of the 2nd company. The story is equally longer on the 2nd AC unit. After the horrible experience, we called Reliant Air Conditioning to come and look at the issue and find a fix. Joey Anderson came. He was the nicest guy! He listened to our concerns and the horrible experience from the 2nd company. Told us and showed us that the compressor wiring harness on both units that show massive damage due to rats chewing them, were never replaced by the 2nd company. Joey seemed very honest and didn't push to sell us anything during the process. He was able to give us an estimate before he left the house. A few days later, he was back to replace the parts and he worked hard without complaining even though it was 90+ F outside. The 2 guys from the 2nd company, one has 30+ yrs of HVAC experience. The other guy has 19+ yrs. Joey has 5 years experience and he turned out to be more knowledgeable, worked faster and produced quality work than the 2 ding dongs from the 2nd company. Joey is out to help people and do his job with integrity. The other 2 were scammers and out to take advantage of people who know nothing about AC's. It's hard to trust HVAC companies these days. There are just too many dishonest ones out there. Our experience with Reliant Air, at least with Joey, shows Reliant Air is honest and reliable. I just hope that all Reliant techs are honest and reliable like Joey was, for us.

Unethical, highly dishonest, deceptive business practices, and poor customer service was my experience with Reliant. Only solution offered on a 7 year old unit that wasn’t cooling was a compete AC replacement and pushed that 5-6 different times during his service call. The Reliant Tech within 5 minutes of setting foot in my attic said my system needed a complete replacement. Informed me the A coil was rusted and could not be replaced due to refrigerant phase out. Said a recharge of refrigerant might leak but could not be certain. I ultimately decided to recharge the refrigerant with 6.5 pounds at $200 a pound for a total cost of $1,250. Refrigerant leaked out within two days. I called Baker Brothers for a second opinion. Within ten minutes Baker Brothers looked up my unit and confirmed unit was under warranty, did a leak detection which Reliant never offered, and quoted me $2K (labor and parts) to replace A coil. Baker Brothers replacement of the A coil confirmed there was zero rust on the A coil that was replaced which confirmed Reliant’s tech blatant lie. Baker Brothers let me know Reliant has the ability to verify and should have verified the warranty status and should have offered a leak detection which Reliant never offered before charging the unit with coolant. Reliant customer service said they’d apply the cost spent with them only and only if I went with them to do the replacement of the A coil. No way I’d spend additional money with a company that lied multiple times and multiple ways to avoid doing everything they could to do the repair that was actually needed. Reliant lost a customer for life and any recommendation in the future. Happy ending to this story is that Baker Brothers got their diagnosis and work correct all under my AC warranty and now have a unit that works.

Reliant AC from the moment stepping into my attic recommended a complete replacement of my system and over the next hour recommended a complete system replacement another 4 times. Did not bother looking up warranty. Informed me the A Coils was rusted when it was not. Said the system might have a leak and that recharging it with Refrigerant would confirm. Reliant also stated the Coils were phased out due to government regulations which turns out was a lie. They never offered a leak detection and proceeded to refill the system with 6.5 pounds of refrigerant at a cost of $199 per pound. The system stopped cooling two days later. I opened the system to see the damage on the A Coil and it was Not rusted. Blatant lie. I called Baker Brothers for a second opinion and within ten minutes informed me my system was within warranty. They offered a leak detection test, found a leak, and placed an order for a new A coil which was covered at a very significant discount under warranty. Reliant AC in my experience was full of lies and misrepresentations and lacks integrity.

When our upstairs A/C unit failed, our home warranty provider covered only a small portion of the repair cost, leaving us with a substantial out-of-pocket expense. After the initial disappointment, I started researching whether replacing the unit would be a better long-term investment. I contacted several HVAC companies, but Reliant Air was the only one I invited out for an in-home consultation. Their sales representative, Craig, was excellent to work with. He took the time to explain multiple options and presented good, better, and best solutions at fair and competitive prices without any pressure. The installation team was equally impressive. Although I don't recall their names, they arrived within the promised time window, worked efficiently, and took great care to keep the work area clean. They completed the entire installation in less than four hours and thoroughly cleaned up before leaving. What impressed me most was that they solved a problem we've been dealing with for nearly 20 years. One of our children's bedrooms was always too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Over the years, several HVAC companies had serviced our system, but none were able to identify or fix the issue. Reliant Air finally did. Based on the quality of their work, professionalism, and attention to detail, Reliant Air has earned my trust. Even though we still have a home warranty, I'll be calling Reliant Air for any future heating and cooling needs.

Can I do 0 stars? 0/5 or -1/5 is more accurate. The guys that actually show up are great, if you can get them. The customer service is the absolute worst. Don’t take them at their word. “We’ll call you back in 15 minutes.” Didn’t happen. “Can I place you on a brief 1 to 2 minute hold?” 15 minutes later and still holding. “We’ll have someone there on Monday.” Nope. “We’ll call you back.” No you won’t. It’s laughably absurd how each of those examples actually happened, not just 1 but all of them. Edit: I’m adding to the review because since posting, the rep on the phone acknowledged I was on the schedule yesterday, they blew past it, and I’m not even on the schedule for today. I stayed home from work 2 days now for nothing. I had a drywall contractor scheduled to follow the reliant repairs but now I have to push that back because of reliant’s missteps. I asked to speak to a supervisor or someone who could actually make a decision to have someone actually show up and was told again “we’ll call you back in 15 minutes”… that was an hour ago and here I sit waiting. Reliant is not reliable. They say they are gimmick free but have a superhero caricature and offer a “hero” package which ironically, despite having paid for the hero package, no one has come to save my ac problems. And the 24/7 reference on their website is BS. I’m not sure how they can claim “100% satisfaction guaranteed” when I am 0% satisfied. Misleading? Deceptive?
