I was very impressed with Joel from Village Plumbing Air and Electric, who performed a seasonal AC check today. Joel’s professionalism and attention to detail were clear as they thoroughly inspected the system and explained everything along the way. They also pointed out some areas I should consider repairing, which was helpful and reassuring. Thanks to Joel’s meticulous approach, I feel confident my AC is ready for the season. I highly recommend Joel and Village Plumbing Air and Electric for reliable, thorough service!
Please be wary of this company. Last year we had to replace our 15 years old HVAC system because it was running 14 hours straight in an attempt cool our house. We must have got 20 quotes from different companies around Houston, large and small. The rep that came out from Village Plumbers was very nice, laid out a plan and assured us every room in the house would be comfortable, not to worry about anything.
They come to install and there must have been 8 people going up and down the attic, staying up there, doing their work, fine. When they were done, we now had a large crack on our ceiling where they were working. Great!
The first thing that upset me was after we signed the contract, find out that they only use Daiken, which uses their own proprietary stuff, so no Nest smart thermostats. Ok, wish I had known that before we made our decision, but my fault for not inquiring.
First few days with the new unit, we walk into every room in the afternoon and its musty, warm air..zero air flow. That doesn't seem right. Lowered the AC a little bit, barely made a difference. We start talking to the sales person who sends a specialized Daiken only tech out. He finds that they didn't even hook up a couple vents, so the tech takes it upon himself to cut a hole in the box and hook the duct up. Ok, so our thousands of dollars couldn't get this done properly and it gets rigged together? Ok..
We still weren't happy, rooms still felt stale and warm. Same tech comes out. 'Oh, you know with this system, you must leave all your doors open' - Excuse me? We have dogs, we have children - who sleeps with their doors open if you're not a 5 year old? This is simply not an option. Luckily winter was coming.
Here we are, back to warmer temps. Thought putting the system on a schedule where it would take it down to 70 at night would help with some of the bedrooms. We either get Antarctica freezing in the rooms upstairs where the unit sits above, or desert oasis in the far reaches of the house. It is not comfortable, it's miserable.
Finally, the customer service is horrible. They were messaging us two weeks after the install saying our maintenance was due. When we inquired about this, they said its normal, it's how their system works. Just ignore it. Ok, quit wasting my time! I called them to take my spouse off everything and only communicate with me, they didn't, now we both get the same messages. Our first real maintenance appt was re-scheduled 3 times, with them cancelling the day of each appointment. They tried to do it a fourth time when I had to get stern with them and ask them what was going on, but the tech still came out the next day.
In hindsight, I wish we went with another company. I feel like we wasted so much money for a subpar solution.

Good afternoon to whom it may concern,
I’m writing this with due respect, although honestly very frustrated after the experience I had with one of your drivers.
I don’t know if your company provides proper driving training to employees, sends them to driving school, or simply does not care about the safety of other drivers on the road. It is unbelievable how careless some of your drivers are when changing lanes without using turn signals. Apparently, they also do not know how to use them when turning onto another street.
I honestly do not know what your driver was thinking. Either he was distracted, using his phone, under the influence, or simply irresponsible behind the wheel.
Please speak with your employees and teach them what turn signals are and why they exist.
Yes, I am specifically referring to the driver around 6:32 PM on Memorial Drive. He turned right like an idiot, cutting into my lane and then almost doing the same thing to another vehicle while heading toward Washington Avenue.
The driver was operating a company van with your logos VILLAGE PLUMBING and license plate number TSS-4942.
I truly hope your company takes action regarding this employee. If this is how carelessly he drives a company vehicle, I can only imagine the quality of work he provides as well.
Have a good day.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
We signed up for Village’s annual membership and scheduled a plumbing inspection and HVAC tune-up for both of our systems. What followed was one of the most stressful and disappointing home service experiences we’ve ever had.
On the plumbing side, Robert came out and spoke so fast and with such alarm that it was difficult to process what he was actually saying. Despite the written inspection report showing green across nearly every category, he presented four tiers of quotes ranging from $2,300 to over $9,400. When we reviewed the inspection report afterward, nothing in writing justified that level of urgency or expense. It felt like a high-pressure sales visit disguised as an inspection. Not to mention Robert didn’t even perform the main requested action of flushing our water heater because he “didn’t have two hoses.” Turns out Robert was a “project manager” which Jose confirmed simply means salesman.
On the HVAC side, Matt performed tune-ups on both of our systems. Matt himself acknowledged he was inexperienced with residential HVAC — which, in hindsight, explains what happened next. Shortly after he left, our upstairs system stopped cooling entirely. When I went outside to check, the condenser fan wasn’t spinning. I called Village and they sent Jose out to fix it. Jose diagnosed the problem immediately — Matt had left something unplugged on the compressor panel. A basic mistake that could have damaged our compressor if we hadn’t caught it quickly.
Rather than leading with an apology, Jose spent most of his visit pitching us on replacing both complete systems for nearly $40,000. After the day we’d already had, that felt tone-deaf at best and opportunistic at worst.
We understand things go wrong in home services. What’s unacceptable is sending an inexperienced technician to perform maintenance on systems you then try to sell us on replacing for $40,000. We won’t be renewing our membership and would strongly caution other homeowners in the Katy area to get a second opinion before acting on anything Village recommends.
Donald Helka came out to my house to do a quality control inspection after a recent plumbing install and overall it was a solid experience from start to finish. He showed up on time and got straight to work didn’t really waste time or try to make anything more complicated than it needed to be.
He checked the whole system carefully fixtures connections water pressure drainage and how everything was running together. He didn’t just look at things quick he actually tested stuff and made sure it was working right. That made me feel a lot better about the install overall.
If something looked a little off he would just point it out and explain it in a simple way. No over talking no confusing jargon just straight explanation so I knew what he meant. That was actually refreshing because a lot of people in this line of work either rush or over explain things that don’t matter.
He also caught a small issue that wasn’t breaking anything but could’ve turned into a problem down the line. I respect that a lot because most people would’ve just ignored it since everything was technically working. That showed he actually cares about the long term condition of the work.
I asked a couple questions while he was checking things and he answered them without acting annoyed or rushing me off. Felt pretty normal and easy to talk to him.
By the end of it I felt confident everything was installed correctly and safe to use. No guessing or second thoughts left on my side.
Overall Donald Helka did a real thorough job and didn’t make it a big production or anything. Just came in did the inspection right and explained what needed to be said. I’d call him again for sure if I needed plumbing work or another check done because he seems like he actually knows what he’s doing and stands behind it.
