  I hired Mendiola Remodeling and Construction to paint the exterior of my house and put a tongue in groove bead board ceiling on my patio. The amount of prep that went into painting was extraordinary. Every single nook and cranny was prepped with high quality caulk (especially where the siding meets the brick). They used a special caulk that does not crack over time like regular caulk and high quality paint. The craftsmanship and professionalism of Miguel and all his workers was outstanding. They showed up every day and the job was competed in the agreed upon time. The finished product looks great and I would highly recommend this company to anyone doing a home improvement project.

  I recently had Mendiola Remodeling complete fascia repair, minor roof leak repairs, and some floorboard installation work at my home. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience. They were professional, communicated clearly, and did great work. The repairs were done carefully, and the finished work looks solid and clean. I'm very satisfied with the outcome. They addressed the roof leak issues, repaired the fascia, and installed the flooring properly without cutting corners. You can tell they care about doing quality work. I appreciated that they handled multiple smaller projects efficiently. I would definitely recommend Mendiola Remodeling to anyone needing home repair or remodeling work.

  I'm going to have to stop myself from writing a crazy long review about Miguel and his team. I need to get back to my beautifully remodeled home that Mendiola Remodeling has given me. But, before I do, here are some details... Mendiola Remodeling was one of the first companies I contacted. Like many of you out there, I don't trust sales people, or pretty much anyone that I know is going to make money off me. I pretty much laid that out for Miguel from the get go when we first met, and he got the message straight away. I told him what I wanted, he gave me suggestions (good ones) a price (without asking me for my budget first) and that was about it for our first visit. At that time, the scope of work was exclusively a primary bath remodel. Afterwards, I spoke with a LOT of companies. Some were blatantly shady, some were quite good, some tried to scare me, some even tried to get me to sign something before getting a quote, and some clearly had no clue how to talk to homeowners. Throughout the whole process I kept comparing what they were saying to what Miguel and I had discussed. Most of the ideas from others weren't bad (ok some were), but none as solid as Miguel's ideas. Eventually my wife basically told me to make a choice and that it was obviously going to be Mendiola since I kept going back to his ideas over and over...and over. So, to save the family from my further procrastinating, we went ahead and made the decision to go ahead and open up the job. I brought Miguel over again and let him know that we wanted to expand the scope to a full re-model of the entire first floor. We talked through it all, the price was right, the timeline was perfect, and there were no issues with my wife and I being upstairs as they did their work. I still got a couple more bids anyhow, but it wasn't necessary...the decision had been made. The crews did amazing, thorough, and really high quality work on everything. (Seriously, a few of these guys are really artists at what they do.) Of course though, we hit a few snags (50yr old houses like to do that). But the way the team handled them was refreshing. None of that "oh, we don't do that, you'll have to get that fixed" junk you hear sometimes...no, these guys knew exactly what to do. They always walked me through the situation, gave me multiple options, and worked with me to find the best solution. Then they did the work perfectly. Finally, Miguel made a point of doing what we wanted. Keeping us happy was clearly top of mind. Our tastes didn't align on a few things. We wanted to have lots of full drench dark paint colors in the bedrooms (see pics). He definitely raised an eyebrow or two when he saw the colors, but he made it happen just like we wanted. It's not something he would have recommended for most houses, but for us, he did it without an issue. And we're thrilled with the results! The kitchen remodeled, a complete fireplace removal, crazy colors, complete ceiling replacement (horrible, thick, yellowed, knockdown texture), wall and ceiling insulation, the entire floor replaced, crown molding, new doors, shelving, lighting, on and on...all superb! (I'd be writing for days if I covered all of what was done.) Look, finding a contractor to give a ton of money to so you can have the house you always wanted is one of the scariest things you can do. I was scared to death through the whole process. But thanks to Miguel and his team, everything worked out just like we wanted. We now have a house that we have dreamt about for years. Ok, maybe the review is still too long...just too much good to share!
