I really wanted to have a positive experience with Glenn Aire, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.
We spent over $17,000 on a new Trane HVAC system and also purchased the one-year extended warranty, which included two maintenance visits (at 6 months and 1 year). We were specifically told that Glenn Aire would contact us to schedule those appointments, so there was no need for us to remember to call.
The six-month visit never happened. When I later asked why no one contacted me, I was simply told, "We've just been so busy." That was disappointing, especially since we paid for the service and relied on their promise to schedule it.
Around the nine-month mark, I happened to be in the attic for an unrelated reason and discovered water leaking from the air handler into the emergency drain pan. Glenn Aire has now been out twice to address the issue, yet the unit is still leaking today.
I'm equally disappointed in the workmanship. After the service visits, one of the access panels was bent, a screw hole was stripped, and a piece of torn insulation was left lying in the emergency drain pan. For a brand-new system, this is simply unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of attention to detail and pride in the quality of the work.
After losing confidence that the problem would be resolved, I sought a second opinion from another HVAC professional. They quickly identified that the system had been installed incorrectly from the beginning, which explains why the leak was never actually fixed. The repairs will be scheduled with them.
To top it off, my recent phone calls to Glenn Aire have not been returned. When a customer spends this kind of money, the expectation is not only quality workmanship but also responsive customer service when problems arise.
I recognize Glenn Aire has many positive reviews, which is one of the reasons we chose them. We believed we were hiring a reputable, family-owned company that would stand behind its work and provide a professional installation. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience.
When I spend my hard-earned money on a big purchase like this, I expect professional installation, quality workmanship, follow-through, and accountability. Sadly, Glenn Aire only provides excellent professional lip service. I cannot recommend them based on my experience.
EDITTED TO RESPOND TO OWNERS REPLY:
I personally made seven calls to Glenn Aire regarding this issue, and my last three calls were not returned. I consider three unanswered calls regarding an unresolved issue to be unresponsive customer service.
I recognize that Glenn Aire made multiple visits and invested time attempting to address the issue. This unit is less than 1 year old and still under warranty. My concern is that, despite those visits, the underlying problem was never resolved.. Ultimately, I sought a second opinion because (1) my calls were not being returned and (2) I've lost confidence that the issue would be corrected by Glenn Aire.
I also want to clarify that the fan has remained on continuously and is still on today (per Glenn Aire's recommendation), yet the unit continues to leak. I would be happy to share my Sensi usage report, which clearly documents that the fan has been running throughout this period.
What is most disappointing to me is the attempt to frame this situation as though the lack of resolution was somehow my (the customer's) fault. Rather than taking ownership of an unresolved issue with a new system, the company has displayed a lack of professionalism and integrity.
I stand by my original review and my description of my experience.
