My encounter with Ryan was disturbingly bad, ineffective, inefficient, and extremely expensive! He deserves ZERO STARS! Why? I’m glad you asked. Ryan was the plumber who was supposed to service my water heater. Funny thing is that I never met Ryan, even though he sent his picture and a short bio prior to my appointment. Instead, another man named Pedro, who was in training, knocked on my door. Pedro was extremely professional and kind. Unfortunately, Pedro was being trained by a lazy person who gatekeeped information and showed me he does not care about the customer or Bacon. For over an hour, Ryan stayed in the work truck while Pedro inspected my plumbing prior to my water heater being serviced. Pedro told me up front he was a new hire and training with the company. Pedro also apologized for Ryan not knocking on my door. There were other plumbing concerns and I asked for a quote. Pedro had to check in with Ryan in the truck. Ryan hand wrote quotes on Bacon letterhead with a pen that was fading in ink. No pricing. No labor. Not itemization. Just amounts without descriptions. So unprofessional. When Pedro brought the quotes to me I explained the scribbled quote was unacceptable and I needed a legible itemized descriptive quote. Pedro went back to the truck to tell Ryan. Ryan told Pedro to tell me he will email it. I did not receive it. Moving on to the servicing of my water heater. I was told by Pedro, per Ryan who still has not gotten out of the truck, that they are not responsible for any damage that could occur during the water heater service; and I might not have a working water heater when they were done. I told Pedro it would have been helpful if I was told this information in the beginning. I took off a full day of work, wasted my time and spent over an hour with Pedro for me to find out I have to foot the bill if they screw up. I cancelled the service and reported my concerns to Bacon Plumbing Heating Air Electric immediately regarding the membership services. Ryan obviously does not care. He didn’t introduce himself, nor the trainee, to me. Pedro had to keep going back and forth to the truck to get answers for me. Ryan sat in the truck the entire time and he’s supposed to be the experienced professional. I think not. Ryan was confused on his job, the trainee or the customer, all of which are costly in time and money. Then, Bacon sent me a follow up request regarding my experience with Ryan knowing this review could damage their credibility and reputation. Well, I applaud Bacon for following through even though I reported the lack of service I received from Ryan. I received great service from Pedro! Pedro was paired with the wrong person to train him and I believe he was set up to fail. To add context, I previously received great service from an HVAC technician a couple months ago, which is why I signed up for the membership. However, my experience with the plumber was distressingly disappointing. From Ryan’s bio, I suppose he was looking for his next fishing spot, planning NASCAR or Cowboys activities. Whatever his reasons, he should have remembered to do his extracurricular activities off the clock and fulfill the duties of his job efficiently and provide exemplary training for Pedro and communication with me, the customer.

Yes, he did an excellent job. He called me ahead of time as discussed to confirm his arrival time. I told him I would be running late and he waited until I made it home. He assessed each of my toilets and explained the issues in a way that I could understand it. He was very professional and accommodating to my preferences and request. I truly appreciate the service that he rendered!!!

I had a frustrating experience with the scheduling and dispatch office at Bacon Plumbing and Heating. I texted multiple times trying to get updates on when the technician would arrive, but communication from the office was very poor. At one point, I even started wondering if we were still on the schedule for the day. This would result of the one or 0 stars on this review. However, technician Xavier completely saved the experience and the day. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and thorough with his inspection and work. He explained everything clearly, showed pictures of the service performed, and gave us great recommendations and instructions on how to keep our HVAC system in top shape. Because of Xavier, I decided to stay with Bacon instead of looking for another HVAC maintenance company. From now on, we will specifically request Xavier as our HVAC technician. Thank you, Xavier, for your outstanding service and professionalism! 5 star service.

The staff is polite and professional, unfortunately my tech’s diagnosis was incorrect. I told the tech I had a clogged main drain on my heat pump unit that needed to be cleared. I explained that I tried to do it with a vacuum and was unsuccessful. It had been overflowing into the filter housing and ended up leaking through the ceiling. After he did his initial trouble shooting he gave me a call and I asked him if he unclogged the drain, he paused and said yes but the drain was not the problem and that I had a cracked internal pan and it would cost roughly 2500.00. I decided to get another estimate and I was with this companies tech the whole time he ended up clearing the drain by opening the downstairs bathroom p trap and used nitrogen to blow out the obstruction. He opened the access panel and there was no cracked pan, just a loose 3/4” male adapter leading to the drain. Problem solved. He also installed a sensor on the drain side that shuts off the unit if another clog happens. While Bacon was professional this smaller company saved my mother 2100.00. Make sure to get three estimates. I was not going to give a review but they kept sending requests so here it is.

3rd Edit: I found out over a year after the install that they failed to install the ceiling collar around the exhaust and the mesh filter in the air intake, allowing dirt, debris, and animals to enter the tankless water heater which will cause it to fail. 2nd Edit: They cut roots from one of my trees and it died. I've been trying to save it for a month but I can't. Now I'm out the cost of a tree replacement because of damage Bacon caused. Edit: Bacon did reach out to me regarding these issues and is working on making it right. They have already taken care of a couple issues but I'm currently waiting on the full, agreed upon resolution. They took my concerns seriously and if the full resolution is reached, This review may be edited again. Original: I've tried for months to be a good customer to Bacon but the relationship is one way. We started with Bacon when an outdoor spigot was leaking and needed a washer replaced. The technician ended up breaking the spigot, requiring it to be replaced, had to cut a hole in our wall to get access, and left the new spigot recessed too far from the brick. Again, trying to be a good customer, I sign up for the family plan. Bacon calls later to send someone out from Ryker for a garage door tune up. They do a good job with the tune up but back their van into my gutter massively denting it. It took three weeks to replace it... with the wrong color. It took another two weeks to correct that. Someone during this process, we had Bacon install a UVC light and provide duct cleaning for our home. We started having water pressure issues and I was considering replacing our water heater with tankless and getting a water softener. Bacon recommended a specific tankless heater and Halo 5 water conditioning system, plus a PRV for the water pressure issue. We ended up not having hot water for three days and the water pressure issue was not fixed. The gutter that had just been replaced previously was backed into again and Bacon didn't replace it this time. After a few weeks, I get Bacon to send someone else out and they recognize the water pressure issue as a faulty PRV (not the one they just installed) near the road, they dig it up and then call their supervisor to figure out what to charge me (they shouldn't have charged anything since my issue was supposed to be fixed with the original work but they got another few hundred dollars out of me). I was charged for excavation after he had already excavated to try to find the PRV and remove it. Most recently, we had a technician out for an HVAC tune up and he noticed how filthy our ducts were. There were literal chunks of debris caught in the air filter. Bacon did send a team back out to reclean the ducts. Now I just found when they dd the HVAC tuneup, they took my hose nozzle but left their adjustable wrench and needle lock pliers.
