It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review, because I really took time to think through after the stress, pain and hurt this experience led to.
Almost two years ago, I hired CTD Restoration to complete two bathroom remodels in my home. Unfortunately, the experience became a major issue because of unskilled contractors hired to complete the work.
My guest bathroom had to be redone three separate times because the shower continued leaking. The leak became so severe that water eventually came through the ceiling, and CTD had to involve their insurance company to address the damages. Throughout the project, there were also constant delays, poor follow-through, and ongoing contractor-related problems.
Fast forward about a year and a half later, and the same issue happened in my master bathroom, which had been remodeled at the same time. The shower pan failed. After having plumbers inspect the issue, I learned water had likely been trapped underneath for an extended period of time. Had it continued much longer, it likely would have caused me and family members to fall thru the ceiling. There was more damage and expense than the original remodel.
When I contacted CTD Restoration for assistance, I was told the work was outside of their one-year warranty period. I later learned that in Texas, contractors are not necessarily required to offer extended warranties, which is something homeowners should absolutely negotiate upfront before signing contracts, especially on expensive bathroom remodels.
At CTD’s request, I also paid out of pocket for additional plumbers to confirm the source of the leak. Even after doing that, they still declined to assist with repairs or offer any meaningful resolution. Except hire them again and they would provide a discount. Unprofessional and insult at its best.
What makes this especially disappointing is that I truly expected a company that values its reputation and customer relationships to stand behind work involving repeated shower pan failures only a short time after installation. They stated I will treat your home like my own and they did not stand by that statement.
I’m sharing this so other homeowners can ask the right questions, carefully review warranties, and fully understand who is actually performing the work inside their homes.
