  I really hate leaving negative reviews, but this experience has been incredibly frustrating and stressful. We recently had a serious issue with our garage door and ultimately left us unable to open or close it at all the next morning. The emergency release handle didn’t work, and the door had actually come off the track—something a garage professional later told us was likely due to how it was originally installed and bound to happen eventually. With our car, this garage is our only way in and out. This all escalated the day before we were supposed to leave for a long drive to North Carolina for a wedding, so we were in a very time-sensitive situation. If there had been any way for us to fix it ourselves or still leave with our car, and fix it when we got back, we absolutely would have—but there wasn’t. I reached out to Frank with Chesmar warranty, and he said he was unable to get someone there that day. We tried to explain the urgency of the situation, but he said, you are reaching out at 5:30 on a Sunday.” Because of that, we had no choice but to hire another company on the spot to get the door functional so we could leave. Frank told us that the bill would not be able to be charged under warranty, even though all of this happened less than one year after we moved into a new build. We were disappointed that there was no support or accountability, especially given that this is now the second time we’ve had issues with the garage. We ended up having to get a whole new motor… Less than one year after we moved in! At the end of the day, I just wish Chesmar had been there for us when we needed help the most. We understand that things can go wrong, but it’s how those situations are handled that really matters—and in this case, we don’t feel like we were backed up at all.

  Nothing but issues... before submitting your offer, talk to a Chesmar home owner ask them what kind of issues they are dealing with. trust me you are better off.
