  I gave them aone star because it's the lowest possible and the shed is pretty tough. Our experience with Tuff Shed in the Harlingen/Rio Grande Valley area was extremely frustrating. Caesar from Tuff Shed came to our home before installation and gave us information regarding the project. Based on the information we were given, we built the foundation for a shed costing approximately $10,000. When the installation crew finally arrived, we were told the foundation was not acceptable. The biggest problem I have with this is that we could not find clear foundation/site requirements provided online or in our contract explaining exactly what Tuff Shed expected. How can a customer be expected to meet requirements that aren't clearly provided beforehand? Then we were told there would be a $250 rescheduling fee because the site supposedly wasn't ready. In my opinion, charging customers $250 under circumstances like this is completely unacceptable and feels like a rip-off. We relied on information provided by their representative, yet we were the ones expected to pay for the resulting problem. Meanwhile, approximately $10,000 had already been charged to my girlfriend's Home Depot credit card, even though there was not yet a shed installed on her property. I eventually spoke with an operations manager, who I believe was named Joey. To his credit, he listened to the situation and waived the $250 fee, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the entire ordeal delayed our project approximately 3–4 weeks. When the building was finally installed, the crew left without completing approximately 4–5 screws because of equipment problems. The frustrating part is that the shed itself appears to be well built. My complaint isn't primarily about the quality of the building. It's about Tuff Shed's process, communication, site-preparation requirements, scheduling, and customer service. Customers spending thousands of dollars should receive clear, written site and foundation requirements BEFORE installation—not find out from the installation crew that something supposedly doesn't meet requirements and then potentially be charged another $250. Based on our experience, Tuff Shed seriously needs to improve the way it communicates with customers and handles installations. What should have been an exciting purchase turned into weeks of unnecessary frustration, delays, wasted time, and additional work. The sheds may be Tuff, but dealing with the process was even TOUGHER. They should change the name to tough shit.

  I received outstanding customer service from Mr. Scott Evans at the Combes Location in Harlingen Tx. He was very helpful, took his time to go over every detail of the design and financing process with me. I'm looking forward to getting my new shed! If you're thinking of getting a shed, Mr. Evans will take good care of you.

  I purchased my tough shed barn style from Mr. Scott Evans at the Hunters Expo in McAllen, Texas. It was such a wonderful experience to just walk in there and talk to him and Mr. Joey. They both were very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. They both explained to me in detailed everything there is to know about these type of sheds. They made me feel right at home. Excellent Customer Service.
