I’ve used Malek for years since I’ve bought my house. I had someone from their company out yesterday because we had to shut the water off to our house because our shower was broken. The plumber told us it would be $2,000 to fix because the parts are no longer made and needed to be entirely replaced. With how expensive everything is right now, this wasn’t something we were able to do. We told him we didn’t even care if we couldn’t use that shower (we have a guest bathroom we would use if we had to) we just wanted to be able to turn the water back on to the house without wasting water from the shower running. He said that that wasn’t something that he was able to do, so we paid the $80 fee for his time, and he left. I got a second opinion from a different company and he was here for less than 20 minutes, said the parts were readily available at the hardware store, and it only cost me $200 for labor and parts combined. For this to be a company that people rely on when they need help with their homes and for them to be so predatory and untruthful is disgusting. This company has lost my trust and I will never be using their services again.

I’ll start by saying, they told me between 9and11. He showed up at 9:15. Which is awesome. Technician introduced himself as Corey very politely and professional. He explained the service that he was going to do on our unit. He also explained other services that his company offers his customers. He was very informative by explaining what he was looking for during his service. Corey is very professional and very well mannered. He presented himself as a technician from Malek. We are very satisfied with his professionalism. Very likable person. Very easy to get along with him. We really liked Corey. Thank you very much Malek for hiring people like Corey thank you Malek for your services and will continue using your services.

Our a/c unit stopped cooling. We called Malek services Company at 0800 the next morning. Logan arrived at 11:30. After explaining to him what was going on with the a/c, he knew what to check first. He changed the part out in a few minutes and we had cool air again. Logan was very professional and answered all of our questions. We highly recomed Malek Services to anyone that need help with their electrical, a/c issues, plumbing and all of the services that they offer.

TLDR; I highly recommend using Malek. Malek tunneled under concrete foundation to address a drain clog, additional scope was needed, Malek managed expectations with possibility of additional scope upfront. My review of work done found a problem with work completed, Malek addressed the problem by retunneling under home with no pushback on me the customer or additional fees. They scoped the project and met the scope with solid communication along the way. Not the first time I have used Malek on my 30 year old home in College station (HVAC aged out). The issue discussed here was when a drain started backing up in master bath, Malek's plumber snaked the drain and snake caught up about 10 feet in. Michael with Malek did his best onsite that day to scope the problem but due to the drain layout was unable to scope the clog from either side. Having a concrete foundation, tunneling cost and project scope was provided by Michael with explanation and all my questions answered. Tunneling sub performed the repair, root infiltration further down in drain was identified as the core issue, additional tunneling was required and prompted by Malek for my approval. Reviewing work after completion I had a major concern, I communicated my issue with the same plumber I had been working with the entire project. Malek retunneled under the home to address the final concerns with no pushback on me, if that statement doesn't hit you with some impact let me explain. That is a huge additional cost to Malek in completion of this project simply for customer satisfaction, so many contractors would have wiped their hands clean and sent their final invoice. After retunneling Malek provided documentation to me on the items that can't be reviewed once the tunnel is closed to show that my concern was addressed. Having dealt with many contractors on many home renovation and repair projects having a contractor that actually takes customer feedback to ensure customer satisfaction is a huge benefit to my mental well being and solidifies my trust in this company. So many contractors are fine with not meeting their full scope and not concerning themselves with customer satisfaction. Finishing a project with a contractor when something goes wrong and it isn't addressed feels like being stolen from right in front of your face. My experience here with Malek was phenomenal, I highly recommend their services, and they comport themselves as true professionals in their field.

We used Malek for many years, beginning when we purchased our new home in 2019. Malek had installed the original heating and cooling system, and initially we were pleased with their responsiveness. Unfortunately, our experience deteriorated badly over time, and what we eventually discovered has caused us to lose confidence in this company completely. One recurring problem involved the cooling coils freezing in the attic unit. When this happened, the fan continued to operate, water escaped from the system, leaked through the attic floor and damaged our living-room ceiling. We had the ceiling repaired, only to have the problem happen again—and then again. Eventually, Malek told us that because the incidents occurred sufficiently far apart, they did not consider the repeated failures to be related to their previous repairs. The resulting damage, we were told, was essentially our problem. Despite that experience, we continued using Malek. We later had a persistent problem cooling one particularly hot room in our house. On Malek’s recommendation, we added another HVAC zone. This required installation of a new zone-control board to operate the four zones in our home. The system never worked particularly well afterward. Malek returned repeatedly to troubleshoot it, and on some occasions we paid for additional modifications. Eventually, Malek told us that the problem was with the zone board and thermostats and quoted us $3,842.80 to replace the components. I questioned the price because the retail prices I found for the components appeared to be substantially lower than the amounts reflected in their proposal. I asked Malek to explain the pricing. I did not receive an explanation. At that point, we decided to use another HVAC company. The most troubling discovery came later, when our air-conditioning system finally stopped working altogether during the Texas summer. A technician investigating the failure found that the zone-control board had been improperly wired into the system. According to the technician, the board should have been powered through the appropriate transformer rather than in the manner it had been connected. A transformer was installed in an attempt to correct the problem, but further investigation revealed that components on the zone board had already burned out. In other words, we were now being told that the zone board Malek had previously installed had apparently been damaged because of the way it had been wired. What troubles me most is that Malek had previously diagnosed this same zone board as defective and quoted us $3,842.80 to replace the zone board and associated components, yet never told us that its failure might have resulted from the way the system had originally been installed or wired. I cannot know what Malek’s technicians knew internally, and I will not speculate about their motives. I can only describe what happened to us: Malek installed the zoning system, repeatedly worked on problems associated with it, ultimately quoted us nearly $4,000 to replace components, and another technician subsequently identified improper wiring associated with the failed zone board. After years as a customer, that was enough for us. If you are considering Malek, I strongly recommend that you obtain a second opinion—particularly before approving an expensive repair. Ask for a detailed explanation of what failed, why it failed, who installed the component, and an itemized breakdown of equipment and labor costs. Based on our experience, we would not trust Malek to work on our HVAC system again, and we cannot recommend them to others.
