On July 8th, I scheduled to have my kitchen drain cleaned. The plumbing company’s website advertises an $83 drain cleaning service. When the plumber arrived, he immediately started to up-sale with a variety of more inclusive services. I accepted to stay with the advertised special and the job began. After several attempts to clear the line, it was not draining correctly. The ad stated I could walk away for free if the drain was not flowing properly. I was faced with calling another plumber or opt for a bigger snake, at almost four times the expense. I was told the initial snake didn’t have enough diameter to completely clear the line. I need the use of my kitchen sink, so approved the larger snake. I understand the lost leader approach, but I should have walked away, with no charge, and just called another company. Sadly, even after the upgraded service, the drain line was running better, but still drained slow after constant use. While the company and technician were very professional, thought their business practice was disappointing. Not sure if I would use Reliant in the future or recommend to my friends or family.

Avoid Radiant at all costs. They use high-pressure sales tactics to exploit vulnerable homeowners during emergencies. I called them out to assess water damage from an AC leak. The technician, Wayland, gave me a massive quote with only two options: spend roughly $21k to repair a 19-year-old machine, or buy a new unit for around $24k. To make matters worse, while poking around in my attic, he actually put a new hole through my closet wall and just left it there. As a single mom dealing with an active leak, no AC, and a giant hole in my living room ceiling, I was devastated and literally in tears. When I asked for other possible solutions, he doubled down and pressured me into scheduling a same-day evening appointment with a salesperson (which I ultimately canceled). Thankfully, I trusted my gut and got a second opinion from Jordan at Windsor Heating and Air. Jordan agreed the old unit needed replacing, but his all-inclusive price for a brand-new unit and installation was just under $9k. Radiant would likely have charged me a $15k markup for the exact same job. Wayland looked me straight in the face as I was crying in a high-stress situation and tried to con me out of an extra $15,000, presumably for a bigger commission on his next paycheck, all while leaving my home in worse shape than he found it. Taking advantage of people in an emergency is predatory and completely unethical. In my experience, Radiant has neither empathy nor integrity. Save your money, save your sanity, and call anyone else.

A little over a month ago, my family contacted Radiant to replace an old AC unit that was starting to struggle after many years of working flawlessly. Radiant put in a new unit and it was clear immediately that something was wrong. The new unit could not achieve 72 degrees if it was any warmer than about 79 degrees outside. Radiant explained this as "open concept homes are harder to cool." Here's the problem with that explanation: The old, outdated unit, managed 68 degrees or lower when it was over 100 degrees outside. They came out multiple times to tweak the unit and each time something else went wrong. Yesterday, a fire alarm suddenly started going off—despite no fire/smoke—and we quickly realized the AC unit was flooding the attic/ceiling, with water short circuiting the smoke detector. Radiant has charged over $10,000 for their services and have only caused my family and home more problems. It is currently 87 degrees in our home and the ceiling has water damage. A Radiant technician came out last night to attempt to fix the clog that led to the AC unit leaking water, and they caused a sink clog so severe our neighbor (who is an engineer/handyman) couldn't fix it. We have had to now call a plumbing service to fix the sink they clogged so we can use our AC again (though I highly doubt the AC unit will even be able to bring the temp down since it's performance is so terrible). Please, do NOT use Radiant for ANYTHING. The technicians are kind people, as many reviewers have pointed out, but they are beyond incompetent and will charge thousands—or tens of thousands—of dollars to destroy your home.

The most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Called at 10am due to AC going out. Was told someone who come out today to have a look and be on the lookout for a call to let me know when they are on the way. Assigned to Antonio. Great news. Family and I go out and try and stay cool doing indoor activities throughout the day. Come home around 7pm, no contact from company. No big deal at this point but I am getting a little concerned. Called at 9pm. Almost a full 12 hours later. Asked to make sure that someone was indeed still coming to fix AC. Yes, but now I’ve been assigned to Chase. Apparently, Antonio wasn’t available anymore. Was told that I am next on his list and he will be coming out tonight. Very concerned at this point. It’s 85 degrees in the house and I am trying to put my child to bed while they’re uncomfortable. Called back 11pm. No word from them yet again. Put on hold for 20mins. Was told now this is an after hours issue despite my initial call at 10am. Cant speak to any sort of supervisors. They can’t reach out to a technician for an update. Told that if I don’t hear from anyone in 30 minutes no one will come out tonight and will have to wait in the morning. Had to beg them to please reach out and give me some sort of update. It’s almost midnight now. No one has called back. Zero communication. House is still 85 degrees. Wife can’t sleep. I can’t sleep. Child is sweating and uncomfortable. This company has zero transparency. No integrity and dishonest. Had I been told that I would not be serviced today I would have called elsewhere or made plans to put my family in a hotel rather than this unsafe house at this temperature. I have never dealt with such dishonest and unhelpful company and that says a lot. Being told repeatedly someone is coming out and then completely reverse to leave my family and myself in this situation after trusting their word is more than discouraging. It’s disrespectful. I can not emphasize staying away from this company enough.

Worst Customer service ever! I really made a huge mistake by having Radiant Plumbing and HVAC replace my HVAC system a few months ago. The customer service is garbage. They make me feel like I need to bow down to them and do as they say. I have TIME CONSTRAINTS because I am a busy human being. Scheduling an appointment to have the over priced system inspected has become a situation where I am now being ignored, and expected to contact the city on my own. Seems like a simple task, but I am the customer who paid $17000 + for an HVAC replacement. I expect much better customer service than this. Things that have led up to my negative review are as follows. 1) Sales - The sales people seem disconnected. Once the sale was finalized, I never had any positive interactions with him. I get it, NEXT! 2) Financing options - Radiant charges a premium price, but only allow a 6 months zero interest financing. After 6 months you pay 6% interest for 10 years. On a $17000+ finance for 10 years their calculation of total due comes to about $30,000. I called the finance co. and they stated that they offer up to 60 months zero interest to the customer. Yes, Radiant would have to pay the fee to the finance company, but I know that it is not $13,000.00 3) Customer Service Reps - While it is their job to assist the customers, it needs to be done with respect and positivity. I have spoke on the phone and then texted as forms of communication with them regarding a couple items/questions/scheduling. Each time I was left feeling like I made a very expensive mistake using Radiant Plumbing and HVAC. Case in point: The new system should have been inspected by the city, either the day of or within a day of installation. It is now three months later and I have been told by CSR that I need to be available to wait around on the day they can schedule a city inspector to come to my home and sign off on their installation. When I stated in my texted reply that I have time constraints and can only be available from X to X on X days, they texted me back that I can call the city on the day of the scheduled inspection to request a timeframe. Now they have not replied to my texts, asking for an update, for 7 days. 3) I called the main phone number today. Never got transferred to CSR, because "they are not picking up". I now wait for a member of management to call me back before the end of the day. I will be happy to edit this review after I speak with Management, and the scheduling of the inspection is completed. Hopefully, this negative experience can be salvaged...we shall see!
