  Mathews was the original roofing contractor when our house was built two years ago. About a month after completion, we discovered a leak around the chimney. They came out and supposedly fixed it, but the next rainstorm brought another leak in the same area. I contacted Wade Mathews, who sent a crew to inspect the work. He acknowledged that the flashing had been installed incorrectly and explained that the mistake happened because he was not on site. Despite this, he still wanted to charge us $800 to correct his company’s own error. Fortunately, our builder recognized how unreasonable this was and covered the cost. A year later, the roof was still leaking. We hired a different roofing company, and they confirmed that the flashing had been installed improperly from the start. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I have only used 1 roofer since the home was built 2 years ago. I personally talked to the owner each time to report the leak. No one else has touched the roof. 2 years ago, our GC asked them to fix the issue. Then it leaked again this year. I called Wade again. They did a repair of their work in April this year and it still leaked. I had no choice but to call another roofer this 3rd time to get another opinion where the issue was and they pointed to the flashing install. Full report, pictures, etc.. I am not happy for having to pay another company. I don't write reviews but as a consumer when I have to pay multiple times for a single roof, I feel it is fair to the public.

  Excellent, professional, on time, and job completed for the amount quoted. Flashing work needed to be done around a chimney and was done correctly. Kerf was sawn into brick, flashing was installed into kerf and was not just slapped up to bricked and then caulk. I have been in residential and lite commercial construction for over 40 years and believe me these folks are the best. They do their on metal work as well.
